What went wrong?
>>
Resolution was too low, D2 zoomed out a bit and that made a big difference

D3 was good. By the time D4 came out, most older gamers expected more of the same, plus drm and always-online, so many didn't bother with it. Newer gamers were absolutely happy with D4, I thiunk.

PC's are ancient boomer tech that has no future.

the classes is poorly balance

Nah, the black man reigns supreme, as you see in reality.
>>
D2 was virtually perfect. It was always downhill for that point.
Every class needed a summon in my opinion, the ones without feel it the most in nightmare and hell.
>>
Diablo 1 is a horror game and the most RPG of them all. D1 requires patience and skill the most. Diablo 2 is mindless action slopfest with endless armies of demons with no sense of danger at all.

It's like comparing Alien to Aliens. Both are good in their own rights. Anyone with good taste likes Diablo 1 more than 2 though.

No Mana regeneration. With the other two classes, you can fire how much you want your first weapon, but with the mage, you have to carry a lot of mana potions, otherwise you get overwhelmed almost instantly.

If you're playing solo by the time you get to late nightmare a lot of builds you'll just get one shot randomly if you don't take things slow.

3 had no reason to exist. Lord of destruction was the perfect ending.

I opened the thread to make this post. I'll be a bit more controversial though.
PoE 1 is closer in tone to Diablo than Diablo 2 and is far more immersive if you treat it as a single player and ignore the zoom zoom end game trading focus of the game. The Lunaris Temple in Act 3 and The Belly of the Beast are some of the most kino themes in any game with a horror setting.
>>
D1 was indeed the actual horror game, everyone was a danger from the actual enemies to the other players. Bosses felt like a actual threat.
D2 was one, but more action oriented and felt more like an adventure with far more varied levels. The difficulty spikes were random at times and certain areas like chapter 3 were a slog to get thru.
D3 was absolute dogshit. Almost everything it did every single other Isometric Diablo clone did better. The story was absolute fucking ass and metzen deserves to be beaten to death with a shovel for allowing it, the game play loop was piss easy and boring, of course the real money auction house nonsense has to be mentioned as it was a terrible fucking idea, and overall it was just a shit sequel.
Diablo immoral, nuff said
D4: the actual out of season april fools joke. Complete shit.
If you want the actual sequel to D2, play Grim Dawn

It was roguelite but unfortunately lacked a deck builder

Nothing went wrong OP it's closer to perfection that any of the sequels. Why are you so fucking stupid? I bet your mom is sad at how fucking stupid you are.
