Yes it was like crack. First time I played at a buddies we took turns doing VC all night and slept on the floor. I spent 82 hours straight awake farming AV the weekend season 3 came out to buy a merciless gladiators battlestaff for my mage with 80k honor cause it was a double honor weekend. Shame what it became but it was inevitable with the expansion pack model.

Yeah but it was because it was riding on the success of EQ.The main appeal of the game was a good balance between solo and group content and the social interaction you had during the game, which happened more and more often the more you played due to group content being harder.I remember vividly my old guildmates that were just a bunch of 16 years old on the other side of the country.

I was an old school MMO player. The only half decent graphical MMO was Ultima Online. Even Ultima Online was not that great. Every new iteration of them was worse than the last iteration, and MMOs peaked in the mid '90s. They've been downhill since.
