Both used progressive politics to instill themes into the game, but it 14 really is the best example of something like that killing the game in one expansion. For WoW, it has been building up throughout many expansions, but 14 has no excuse for what happened.

I hated the fuck out of EW too but Dawntrail stacked on top of that has just finally made me consider for the first time ever that maybe I won't come back for the next expansion. It's weird because I've devoted 15 years to this game, but it's also not my first MMO and I know nothing lasts forever. At this point unless the plans for 8.0 blow my mind I'm going to finish the WoL/Hades ultimate and let that be my finale in this game.
