I'm 100% convinced that most Dragon's Dogma players actually hate Dragon's Dogma.
>make an amazing fantasy game about adventuring in the open wilds with your autistic companions
>release a DLC that has none of that and is just endlessly grinding for RNG loot in a generic dungeon
>the DLC is way more popular than the base game
>the one complaint everyone has about the sequel is that there isn't enough mindless grinding in generic dungeons

It has male and female in the character creator which auto makes it better than part 2 by 33%

I'm sowwy anon, I'll discuss the game, what's your favorite vocation? I think fighter is mine because I have a hard on for perfect blocking.

I feel the same. I was completely hooked while walking up the mountain to the lady bandits. I remember stopping and looking down and then up and just smiling. Walking through the forest at night while trying to find that church and listening for the monsters was awesome. Dark Arisen was fun but didn't have that adventure feel. That griffon quest was top tier too. One of the few games that I can recall so much about.

the thing many people like the most about the game is the combat and the DLC has the best designed enemies by far
>hardest versions of every enemy, forcing the player to know how to get the most out of their character
>tight quarters makes engagements more frequent and necessary
>the gear you find unlocks new augments as well as enhancing skills for every class

There's butts in DD2, too.

I love the base game more than the DLC
But the DLC also has a lot of exploration for loot, which is also pretty good

>just endlessly grinding for RNG loot in a generic dungeon
i barely replayed bitterblack isle, it was an amazing mysterious dungeon to explore with actually good loot and enemy encounters which the entire rest of the game lacked
eventually the magic of the base game goes away quite fast. You realise it peaked at devilfire grove ages ago and every enemy encounter afterwards will be stale and repetitive for 15-40 more hours. You realise all the gear is number go up, and even then, the chance of randomly finding a better weapon than what you currently have is extremely small. The general world will have the same encounters in the same predictable places and theres really not anything interesting to see revisiting the dungeons, and its just quite small too outside of the time spent figuring out how to get on top of some cliff. Theres a lot of hidden interesting corners but not much of good to gain from them. Everfall is amazing.. for about 10 minutes. The overworld is cool at first when youre going around killing dragons but then you realise theres fuck-all to do

BBI rectifies quite a bit, now you can at least get some gear with special powers more often, or now youre geared up enough to make good use of some more gimmicky things. Now you have a ton of extremely hidden nooks and crannies and collectathons with potentially good rewards, the enemy encounters can actually get tough, you have a bunch of varied and dynamic objectives (like trying to kill Death for loot), all that shit. And now the only thing that can fuck you up and make you stop having fun is the flat defense mechanic

The thing about /v/ is after TORtanic people realized you get replies by acting retarded or just genuinely being retarded.
It's why you had a redditfrog poster saying they funded Tenapple's game by some comically large amount and would charge back.
Guess what never happened because redditfrog poster was a larping tard?
Stop taking what /v/ says seriously.

I like both, honestly. The base game nails the old school LOTR adventure fantasy, whilst the DLC nails the old-school dungeon delving DND fantasy.
That's kind of the insane thing about Dragon's Dogma. They did one game and one DLC and both concepts were good enough on a first try to become entire game series on their own.

The open world part was terrible
Think of all the cool parkour you can do in gran Soren to get on the roofs when there is literally nothing there to find but junk drawer random containers because of retarded mmo gacha design

Dark arisen worked because it recontextualized the good shit in dd like the awesome skill design in a functional dungeon crawl instead of a fundamentally misdesigned open world
>>
>>719497074
2 was actually the better game.
Anyone who claims they like the open world RPG for the roguelike dungeon mode with gacha loot is a retard and doesn't actually like the game. They just wanted Monster Hunter with wizards.
