This whole game is carried by Nostalgia
I respect turning this game from a turn based game to a rpg fps but the story and worldbuilding is laughably bad and lazily recycled Fallout 2 and 1, and the world feels empty in not a good way.

In my opinion the strongest aspect of F3 is the amazing aesthetic created by Adam Adamowicz, it's a perfect blend of the classic aesthetic of F1 and F2, with its own personal style.
The gameplay mechanics are pretty solid too, which is why Obsidian was capable of creating a really fun and interesting overhaul of F3 with NV.
The writing of the main campaign could be better, at least is coherent, unlike F4. The DLCs are better written than the main campaign of Fallout 3. For all the references and callbacks to the original games, the DLCs explore more of the world and let you know there's shit out there that'll turn you white!, like The Pitt with the Troggs or Point Lookout, with two quasi-illuminatis fighting in the middle of a land, infested with mutant rednecks and cultists. For people like Calvert and Lockheart, the end of the world was not the end of the old world conflicts.
Shame the franchise is now stagnated, Fallout 76 gives too much money and I don't think we are ever going to see Fallout 5, especially if TES VI flops, which I hope it happens.
