Describe the consequences
>>
Feels like the games it spawned haven't been relevant in years so It didn't matter in the end? It started the trend of what, map packs? That evolved into season passes and now even season passes aren't really a thing now being replaced with something worse.
>>
What did CoD innovate on for them to be trendsetters, again? I seriously can't remember why everyone wanted to copy it for a while.

mw2 was worse, it forever ruined pc gaming

Aim down sights, i think. Faster arcadey gameplay set in modern times. Its competition was Counter strike and Medal of Honor, which most of the devs used to be MoH devs. Before CoD4 most people just played CoD1 and 2 for the Singleplayer until CoD4 came out.

indirectly led to the downfall of Halo and the entire FPS genre

The most relevant today was making metaprogression a huge aspect of the game, which evolved into battlepasses and cosmetic microtransactions.

why? mw2 is great and titanfall is even better
