All men; at one time in their lives; yearn for the blades.
The blades call to our primal soul.

Gaming was at its peak a while ago.
Now, we're all stuck in the trough.

Most 360 launch games looked like shit and ran worse. The Xbox Arcade games were of lower quality than flash games on Newgrounds. The games would crash a lot too, not to mention the system being unreliable hardware wise. You weren't there, it was bad, but not as bad as it is now. Go one generation back and it was better.

I got my Xbox in 2007 with Halo 3 and never had any of those problems. I loved the Arcade games espeically

How about you post actual games, that you consider "peak" instead of posting a picture of fucking dashboard.

Aesteticfaging retroomers shitting up the board once again.

>Works on my machine.
You're right anon... I... I was incorrect... All the launch problems with the 360 were me... misremembering things.
>>
I still remember getting RROD and having to talk with customer reps over the phone and getting harangued because there were two profiles on the console and it was making their job harder to create the work order.

I believe you but I don't understand what could've changed in 2 years, unless it was a system software update that made it run better. I never had crashes but I did eventually get the RRoD like everyone during those days.

I wasn't there in 2005, so my memory of the XBLA was Castle Crashers, Monday Night Combat, Battlefield 1943, etc. I can imagine at launch it was basically silly indy games

What changed in 2 years was a complete redesign of the system. Microsoft paid through the nose to replace millions of busted Xboxes. It was so bad that calling into support and saying your xbox is broken just got your call immediately forwarded to the people who'd send you a cardboard coffin to ship it back in, no questions asked.

>We ended up paying for it anyway since they just posted a tax-writeoff loss for the snafu which made taxpayers foot the bill. Thanks.

Original XBLA games had to fit within like 50MB, they had to make an exception for Konami when they released SotN on it which was over 100MB. 95% of XBLA games were total crap for the first 2 years until then, I think Geometry Wars was the best seller.

Oh damn that is abysmal. I wonder how barebones the original 50 mb Uno was

It was rough.
>The original size limit imposed by Microsoft for Xbox Live Arcade games was 50 MB, in order to ensure any downloaded game could fit on a 64 MB Xbox memory unit. The limit has since been changed to 150 MB...

The golden age stretched between 1995 and 2008 or so. Now, like every other entertainment medium, the only good ones are from independent developers.
