Playing DMC 1 right now. I'm on the third Nelo Angelo fight and I feel like he just does so much damage. I kinda hate DMC 1 desu, this is my third time playing this game, I usually end up dropping it because it's a waste of my time.

Admittedly, once I understand Nightmare, I kinda realized he's a fun boss, but it still marks the end of the enjoyable part of the game for me. I think DMC 1 is a landmark title and really paved the way for future action games, but it's just so fucking annoying. This time around, I'm using save states. It might be my fault for not getting very many blue orbs, but I feel like I'm having to try like 10 times harder in the third act just because I didn't do some lame secret levels. This game would just be a lot better if you didn't have to buy your abilities, like in Ninja Gaiden.

Either I don't like it, I've never played it, or I don't intend to play it. Metroid, RE, Street Fighter, Elder Scrolls, MGS (the MSX ones). It's not actually that big of a deal if I don't like 1. I think I'm just gonna play 3 instead.

DMC1 really was the best of the genre back in the day and still is one of the best games ever made. But it can be rough to play it now after so many modern action titles. I still replay it once in a while, but DMC3 is still the best one for me, even if the combat in DMCV is unsurpassed.
