Yeah of course you can. You'll zone out and put 30-40 hours in. You'll spend some time making a cool ship, you'll spend a while just dicking around and going to visit new barren bullshit, you'll frequently collect new space suit pieces and try them on and then go into third person and look at yourself like you did in Fallout and Skyrim. I liked it because I liked the combat, both space and land, ship costumization, the story was alright, and the best girl in vidya everHowever, it could have easily been a masterpiece and it is terribly sloppy. It's objectively mediocre at best. The potential was infinite and i think that's why people hate it which is fair enough

Starfield is overly hated desu. If you enjoy space games enough to be desperate enough for Starfield to be good, you'll probably enjoy it a lot. It's not a perfect game by any means, but in the space genre you grade on a curve. I'm struggling to think of anything it's better at except its highly neglected VR support. You can complain about Starfield's planets all you want and I'll agree with you but then in E:D you literally have nothing but barren rock balls and all the POI are clusters of rocks. In place of Starfield's mediocre Bethesda fare, you have "quests" to collect 100 bloops with the most monotonous gameplay imaginable. If an E:D expansion came out with even 1/3 of Starfield's feature set its players would be over the moon.
