>didn't keep the no death gem requirement for the remake
Fucking can't stand you casual vermin. And you niggers STILL complained about the difficulty even after the fact.
>>
The remake was harder in spots simply because of the fucktarded decision to use capsules for collision instead of a box like the original, cause you to actually be able to slip off of edges.
>>
If no death gems were so great then how come Crash 2 and 3 didn't use them?
>>
>>719526374
Appealing to casuals. Making the box breaking a rote collection exercise that at worst has some occasional points of no return isn't interesting as a challenge. Having to no-death clear a stage is a significantly better challenge and means earning a gem reflects your skill and level of mastery.

Almost anyone can clear a stage in Crash, but can you do it without dying and breaking all of these boxes?

>the mechanic is shit so we will remove it, lets call it a upgrade

the remake was badly made, who gives a fuck about tertiary shit like this when the devs couldn't even get the core platforming mechanics right

have a fucking sense for what matters, jesus

>Games that casuals ruined
Fallout. Saw a hugely upvoted tiktok comment earlier on a video about some Fallout tv show theme park attraction from some like 40 year old woman talking about Fallout 5.

Different design/mechanics/less experience etc.... Crash 1 is actually pretty easy save for like two or three levels on the last island, the only challenge really does come from the no death requirement. 2 and Warped still have Skull Routes that require you reach them without deaths, and there's a particularly frustrating one at the end of 2 that requires some bullshit like beating most of the level then running back to the skull route without dying
>>
>>719525935
Having to leave the level and come back in was more tedious than difficult. Keeping the requirement for coloured gems was a good compromise
>>
The colored gems are deathless only, and the time trials require you to go fast and not die. The time trials are way more fun than deathless box runs

>itt: games that casuals ruined

>Game was originally made for casuals (of the mid to late 90's)
> casuals ruined it.
