>gta3 was so influential bro. No one was going to make a game in an urban city, it's just such an original idea that I need to call every game featuring populated areas a gta clone
You say this, but Rockstar is still the only one pushing the genre to its absolute limit.
GTA III was a groundbreaking game back when it came out though

>>719529234bro no other game had that crazy of a city urban environment recreating real life. Yeah it was game breaking since the closest examples of cities could only be found in racing games. Environmental NPCs took a huge leap in quality as well from the PC offerings.
>>719529317Because every other attempt was labeled a clone by children
>>719529471 (me)to add you had Deus Ex but that was always an area block / cell. This was streamless technology between areas but you wouldn't know innovation even if it sucked you off.

>>719529234Of course. All those GTA-like games from the 2000s were actually ripping off Who Framed Roger Rabbit for NES.
>>719529906>lol you failed the easiest iq test possible. Hey what can I say, the breakfast stuff in the house is almost always sugary shit instead of something like eggs and most of the time I don't want a sugar bomb when I start my day. :P

>>719529317nice.she should be cloned and all her eggs fertilized
>>719529234>Urban cityWhat other kind of city is there, dickhead
>>719529234>Zoom zoom doesn't understand what was groundbreaking about a piece of media. Many such cases. The urban decay wasn't part of it, it was having a huge seamless city that put GTAIII on the map. Everything before then was level/stage based. Even Ocarina of Time was a series of smaller maps you transitioned between. The only game that had a map as large as GTAIII was Asheron's Call.
