If you mean the PSX translation, no.
If you mean based on a new set of writing from Matsuno loosely based on the original Japanese non-WotL version (but written to be better for spoken dialogue), then the Enhanced Edition has that.

Unfortunately the "Classic" version uses the WotL translation for English, but for Japanese, it's the original version and not WotL

Yeah. Its not bad, I liked it(at last it was better than PSP version) but they left it in bugged state with fucked up formulas and it still was too bloated(less than PSP version but still).
I paid full price for it and in one later patch they make it impossible to start it on Win7(ot was possible to play it on it with some old dll put in the game folder).

The same can be said of a lot of party members in JPRGs, especially Final Fantasy. They all have a very small part to play and for the rest of the game they just hang out in the background. Meliadoul could have conversations with Folmarv and other church members for example. It would be situational, I don't expect every single character to be able to comment in every single story battle.

Even in Chrono Cross party members tend to talk more when they are actively in your party. Sure they mostly all say the same thing just with their own speech quirks but at least it's SOMETHING versus nothing.

Chrono Cross was designed with quantity over quality (in terms of storyline involvement) from the scratch, to be fair.
And even then there is a commendable amount of interactions of "the right party member at the right place", considering the absurd amount of variables you can have.
Some of it is very obviously guide-bait, like why the FUCK is Pierre the only one that has shit scattered all over the world including the Dead Sea, when he never even mentions that even superficially?
Nevertheless, they are fairly different circumstances to the average JRPG with a small pocket cast that even then manages to factor in no way.

Now that I compare it properly, I think it might be AI. You can see where the AI got confused and thought that was supposed to be grass in the original, at the bottom corner closest to our viewpoint. The original artist probably intended that to be a crack in the stone or something but the img2img AI or whatever they used turned it into grass.

Eh, mechanically I found it very fun and I really enjoyed my time with it.
But you're right about the ugliness and lot of the shit parts.
Also, enemy healing is limited, and can even be customized in the ini file if you're having diffiiculty.
