just got a waveguide kit. what are some cool game ideas to make in augmented reality? or is it just a gimmick?
Wtf is that? It looks like you took apart a pair of glasses and an electric kettle and macgyver'd some shit together
>>719546169it's a waveguide panel. basically that little black brick on the left panel is a 2k microLED projector that gets up to 250,000nits brightness so that it can bounce through dozens of mirrors inside the glass and wind up placing a 2k screen in front of your eyes with about 70fov. it has to be super bright because each reflection takes away a ton of energy from the projector, so by the end of it it's at like 7000 nits, so it's pretty decent in normal lighting conditions as long as you don't look right at a lightsource. doing all that lets the panel be just pure glass and the projectors out of the way, letting you design a pretty small headmount for it, or glasses if you're aiming for that.
>>719546768so what youre saying is you built the going into games machine
>>719546831nah it's just the display, although a really nice one. i still need to figure out what the best method for user input is. I'm just gonna plug this into my pc and use valve index controls to start off.
