ori 1 did not copy anything from hollow knight but it is as clear as day that they played hollow knight and were heavily inspired while working on ori 2. many systems from hollow knight blatently ripped and placed into ori 2. they completely reworked combat in 2 and it functions much like hollow knight. ori 2 is suddenly filled with esoteric NPCs that speak in the same kind of gibberish language, none of this exists in ori 1. There's suddenly a hub town that many of these npc end up in. that's some examples.
