In what sense? A lot of people played it, but I don't know of any ongoing online community, especially not on /v/.

There doesn't seem to be any reason to jump on immediately at launch. I know I personally don't have anyone to play with, nor does unlocking Pac-Man early entice me to preorder. This is the kind of game I stick on my wishlist for friends to get me as a gift when it's under $20. I didn't see anything about any FOMO like special online events, so it has that going for it as an evergreen arcade golf title you can pick up whenever. It REALLY needed crossplay, though.
