Two Wonderboy threads together? Amazing!

It wouldn't make much sense calling it Adventure Island either.
>>
Is this a remake of 4 on the genesis

The series had embraced the Monster World name by the point of the original game's release. They chose to highlight the Wonder Boy name for the re-release partly because the Dragon's Trap remake and the recent series collection had used Wonder and partly to avoid confusion (and search results) with Monster Hunter World.

Monster World 4 is also Wonder Boy 6

your chart is incomplete
WB2 was ported to the NES as Saiyuuki World, which got its own sequel Saiyuuki World 2, which was reskinned and localized as the native American themed Whomp'em
WB2 was also ported and reskinned to the TG16 as a license tie-in with a line of collectible stickers
and I could have sworn Dragon's Trap got a similar treatment

the series also served as the basis for Brazil's Monica games

Forgot I owned this game, never played it.
Maybe I'll put it in next after Bananza...
