>They both make indie developers seethe in anger
How do they do it?
>>
>>719555798
So they anger themselves? That's pretty easy to do, just watch an antiwoke grifter youtube channel for more that 5 seconds
>>
>>719555798
They make their games cheap so they can sell well. The jewish indie maker can't comprehend this
>>
>>719555798
The left one makes good games, the right one is just unfunny token content for faggots and trannies

could someone post other indie devs seething about Silksong? i've seen other indies postponing their releases because of it, but i want to see screencaps of devs actually seething about it

He's a subversive, hot off of gamers losing the battle for their own hobby the year before.
>buhhhhh, gamergate didun---
"History is written by the victors." Read the Wikipedia article on GamerGate and tell me who won.
>>
>>719555798
They're both indie developers
>>
>>719557134
And at least one of them is a post-modernist ideological subversive, yes.

I can't say that I have played either of their games. No idea who the 'red cherry' game controller dev is.. Undertale looks to gay for me to even consider playing. I have a natural hate towards gay people.
>>

you misspelled /v/

you fell for the culture war psyop, you are pure goycattle, it's that simple

I did not support Undertale, or any of Robert's other projects, no.
>>
>>719555798
>How do they do it?
By finishing their games, eventually. Haven't seen a single twitter developer release any of their games, just engine animation tests so they can trick people into thinking they're making a game.

They actually attempt to give their game some kind of identiy. Even if they tumble they at least fucking TRY.
I don't care how many fucking times my friends ask me to play Peak, I'm not getting it because of the shitty corporate memphis artstyle.
>>
>>719562083
>they at least fucking TRY.
They literally made 1 game in their entire life
>>
>>719555798
Are there any indie developers who have been able to surpass their previous big hit while changing their formula rather than repeating what they did last time?
>Darkest Dungeon - tried to change it but generally considered worse
>Ftl - tried something new with only a fraction of the success.
>binding of isaac - tried to do different games but nothing with much success
>>
>>719562279
Into the Breach is a perfectly fine game, just different and with less mass appeal.
And Edmund made Meat Boy before Isaac, Isaac was already them surpassing their previous game.
>>
>>719555798
>$20 for a finished game that took 7 years to get developed by 3 guys
>$25 for a game that's 50-60% done after 8 years of waiting for a team of 10+ lazy devs
I wonder what's the best option, gee...
>>
>>719563930
to be fair, the other 40-50% isn't going to raise that game's price at all
>>
>>719562279
Binding of Isaac was already a surpassing of a previous big hit
>>
>>719562279
Those are three terrible examples you named.
Darkest Dungeon 2 is better than Darkest Dungeon 1.
Into the Breach is better than FTL.
And I suspect Mewgenics will be better than Binding of Isaac, though naturally we won't know until it's out.

All those examples combined tell me is that indie fandoms are autistic and averse to change even if it's for the better.
>>
>>719556104
True.
>>
>>719556250
there is nothing subversive about undertale
>>
>>719563610
>>719564246
Into the Breach is a good little game but it made only a fraction even with the developer name behind it.
Edmund is in that case closest to having figured it out with two times being successful while also having a few not so good games.
>>719564947
>Darkest Dungeon 2 is better than Darkest Dungeon 1.
no
>Into the Breach is better than FTL.
no
>>
>>719565136
It's subversive in the fact that its a typical "your actions can have fucked up consequences" game where you can actually flip the dynamic and give things on a happy ending.
>>
>>719565136
>post-modernist "meta-narrative" bullshit
>"toxic gamer chuds are violent and bad!"
>"monsters deserve hecking empathy too!"
Really...
>>

Yes
>>
>>719565597
>10 years

>>
>>719565396
>Gamers bitch about RNG
>Darkest Dungeon 2 and Into the Breach have less RNG than the previous games
>Gamers cry because they're autistic and can't handle change

>Gamers bitch about grinding
>Darkest Dungeon 2 has less grinding than the previous game
>Gamers cry because they're autistic and can't handle change

Trying to please indie fans is an exercise in futility. Just make what you want to make and leave the retards in the dust.

>>
>>719555798
the real answer is that both of their teams have the good kind of autism where they get hyperfocused on making the best shit possible for their genre of choice.

There is a difference between slamming your head against the wall in order to chase dreams and passions (most devs), and the process for Toby Fox and Team Cherry.

Team Cherry fell off the face of the earth and delayed their game multiple times-not because they had issues, but because they kept coming up with more cool shit to add.

Toby Fox had a literal fever dream as a kid that changed his life trajectory and lead him to where he is today. He basically learned game development from scratch just to make Deltarune like 20 years later.

it isnt that their development process is effortless, its that they enjoy even the effort itself, and that allows them to reach a nirvana state while doing what is otherwise one of the most mind numbing jobs in existence.
>>
>>719555798
Toby Fox only makes people here angry, and none of the people here that are angry at him are indie devs
>>
>>719556186
they don't exist or if they do it's some literal whos on bsky who were going to sell about 10 copies of whatever they're working on anyway
>>
>>719567516
Of course not; he was the first subversive to tell the rest that there was safety in the industry, as well as confirm that gamers wee only pretending to gatekeep the year before.

>all that hype and talk
>only 1-2 million
Undertale has around 10 times of that. What happened?
>>
>>719568815
Undertale took half a year to reach a million. Also Deltarune isn't even finished yet.
>>
>>719569638
>Deltarune isn't even finished yet
And it won't be until Robert needs to pay back a loan or something...
>>
>>719555798
I think it's funny that weak indie devs are scared of Silksong
And Toby Fox is one of my biggest inspirations in game dev
