So, this game is pretty fucking good, just been playing for a few hours now. AndThe combat is super fluid, and those cinematic parries are just so cool. The world is huge and fun to explore with many different biomes. And the story so far is engaging. Why was this game forgotten so fast? Besides it being ubishit and people being rightfully hesitant. I don't even mind the black MC, Sargon is a cool character.

But yes, imo The Lost Crown is the best game in the genre which isn't an actual Metroid or Castlevania game. I think it's unfortunate that people think of Ubisoft as a singular company because there are dozens of different Ubisofts and this particular one (Montpellier) is one of the most consistently interesting devs in existence, there should never have been any doubt as to whether or not it would be good when they were revealed to be the team behind it.

The Lost Crown had better movement, combat, writing, and art so it's frustrating to see that level of regression, and then on top of that as other anons have mentioned it's a buggy mess. What got me to quit was that I was playing on Gamepass on Xbox but Ubisoft connect kept trying to do its own cloud saves until it crashed during a level transition. Lost 10 minutes of progress and nothing I'd played up to that point made me want to fight through that sort of instability. I'd say it's slightly better than Rogue Legacy 2 but that's not high praise.
