someone should produce new ones
I like it, but I prefer the ergonomics of the DS4.It feels nicer for long play sessions.
agreedoutside of the ergonomy that was better on DS4, DS2/3 is still the best controller out therethe only one that came close was the wii classic controller and it's still far behind
with Hall effect sticks
>>719559181>>719559279i'm perfectly fine with upgrades, i just want new analogue buttons with high quality parts
>>719559056I repair original ones, feel free to buy them on ebay.>>719559279The originals had hall effect sticks.
PS3 controller felt like cheap crap in the hands.
>>719559056gotchu bro
>thumps occasionally touch each other since the sticks are way too close to each other
>>719559056I have good news for you https://retrofighters.com/our-collection/defender-pro-wireless-gamepad/Pressure sensitive △ O X L1 L2 R1 R2 (full PS2/PS3/OG Xbox support)>Full gyro support (SixAxis)>Anti friction rings (fuck Nintendo)>Back buttons>Turbo button>Hairpin trigger locks>1000Hz latency>Wireless
>>719563494Heya, OP. I hope nobody buys your Xhinese garbage.
>>719559056Have they found a solution on how to use the PS button on 3rd party controllers yet. Its 2025 im not buying a chink controller that doesnt have true functionality or a 60 dollar converter box.
>>719563494people say the old one has ultra sensitive triggers, if they don't fix that it's trash
did some patent die out or something, how am i seeing so many chingchong controllers being made with hall effect gyro etc?
>>719564793>improved l2/r2 sensitivityseems like it's a feature
>>719561271>The originals had hall effect sticks.yes, but only around the very first 2 or 3 batches of sixaxis, then they stopped using hall, and after they moved to dualshock 3 they completely abandoned it
>>719565967No, DS3 still has hall effect sticks.
>>719559056buying a broken one(or a broken one you already have) and replacing the battery and membrane will turn it into a new one for less than 10 bucks
>>719566083source? last time i checked all controllers using the MSU VX 1.03 and up(as in, all DS3) did not use hall
>>719563494this might be better than a ds3 off the fact of the triggers not being complete dogshitunfortunately, it's out of stock currently
>>719566347It's coming out in January 2026
I've repaired a few hundred, most CECHZC2U models have hall effect sticks, the potentiometers are magnetic and rely on 4 pins.
>>719562450If I take off the packaging, will you die?
Dualsense has made it obsolete. it's better in every way
>>719566538all of my ds3s are hall effect and look quite sexy in silver
>>719566591it's heavy and unergonomic as fuck. and it doesn't have pressure sensitive buttons. it fucking sucks ass
>>719567002It's a handsome controller any way you put it.
>>719566591the dpad is unusable trash and all buttons are digital
>>719565967That is straight up backwards. The 4 pot sticks are the electromagnetic ones and were introduced on later Six-Axis and used in all early DS3s until they started cost cutting the shit out of the PS3 in general.https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/DualShock_3I think it's all fat era DS3s had them but it's been a while and the exact timing is tricky to figure out anyways. Something marked as just CECHZC2 + country code should be the 4 pot, controllers with an A1 model number can be either, A2s ostensibly never will have them, B1s are Chinese crap. Earlier PS3 controllers use transparent plastic so you can physically see it anyways.
>>719568978everyone keeps linking that page as proof, but where does it actually say they're hall sticks? there isn't a single mention of "hall" in that pageon the other hand, in stick types it only mentions ALPS sticks
>>719568978Also IIRC A1 is when they changed the shell design to eliminate the separate pieces that go between the shoulder buttons>>719569538Basically they aren't, they're ostensibly based off resistance changed like the TMR shit the Chincs are pushing rather than voltage difference like a Hall sensor. What matters is they're sealed (at least later versions) and have less physical contact which prevents the issue with dusty pots grinding themselves to shit.
