All those assets are worthless. The transmog system is worthless. The whole character customization system is worthless. I have to ignore all of that, never spend a single fucking second with them, because i will never see my creation in action. Fucking Deus Ex has more justification to incorporate a character creator and gear than fucking Cyberpunk. Just thinking about that is giving me a headache.

It happens when you boot up the game and create the face of a character that you never(*) see. It happens again when you loot clothing. And again every time you open the inventory. The game never stops reminding you of the fact that all visual customization is pointless. In all honesty, if i could pick a standard character Deus Ex/DA2 style, remove all clothing items from the loot table and disable the character model in the inventory i would. Because then i'd know that every time i hop on a bike or look into a mirror i'm seeing the same character from the beginning of the game and it will never look any different. Hey, it's John Cyberpunk. Yep, that's the player.

But when i'm looking through the eyes of somebody else i lose that connection. In a first person game i can't feel my fingertips touching an object, i can't feel the clothes on my skin or the taste of my lunch 4 hours ago. But when i see the character that i'm controlling i at least have that connection.
