Gen 5 is when they nuked level design, gen 6 is when they nuked combat and gen 7 is when they made the "story" so tedious that I didn't bother buying USUM

I just want real time combat pokemon game where you train your pokemon more like you train a pawn in dragons dogma or your creature in black & white. You can yell commands at it but if you left it alone it would still fight based on what it learned.

Pokemon stadium, I don't like turn based combat at all
After the first gym of Moon, where the game was still treating me like I had never played a video game before. Almost dropped it after playing Pearl's molasses paced shit for an hour but Black and X were actually enjoyable. I haven't seen a reason to go back since Moon though.
