10 years ago this was supposed to change everything. Now nobody remembers it existed. It never once had a single game.
>>
>>719570831
I never liked the idea of cutting my vision off entirely in order to play a game where you're supposed to move around
>>
>>719570831
>when a poorfag who never owned VR tells you how bad it is
>>
I'm waiting on my bsb2 to arrive.
I'm 95% sure I can't stand vr because the headset is too heavy, and it puts all that weight on my glasses.
>>
>>719571017
Then tell me how good it is.
>>
>>719571017
True, 25 minutes in subnaituca vr felt like 15 years worth of gaming experience crammed into one pure burst of euphoria turned abject terror.
>>
I had my fun. Quest 2 was 100% worth 10 Euro I paid for it.
>>
>>719571119
i love the psvr2 for designing it as a headband that the headset kinda dangles from
>>
>>719571550
the bsb2 has one too, it's like a night vision goggle thing that flips up when you're not using it, might make skyrim modding tolerable.
>>
They never solved the "space helmet" issue, did they?
>>
Personally I'm waiting for Lumines Arise. Tetris Effect was fucking great in VR and I still play it from time to time. Resonite finally got a huge performance update, too.
>>
>>719570831
Only idiots like Zuck thought it would actually change anything.
It was only ever going to be an interesting gimmick that would exist concurrently with the status quo.
>>
i blame middle aged black women for not buying enough vr sets
>>
Whenever I take my quest 3 out I usually enjoy it, but it's a whole fucking process and the headset is light but you still have some weight on your face and it's not completely comfortable. If I don't use it for a month or so I have to take a Dramamine so I don't get motion sickness while moving around. Also I need to be in my living room if there is a lot of moving around because my bedroom does not have the space to do anything but sit in my chair to do VR, another hurdle. But again, I play Rez VR or Beat Saber or even the VR version of Triangle Strategy and I have a good time, but we might be stuck in this rut until Full Dive tech is invented.
>>
>>719570831
im too poor for it
>>
>>719571937
>Dramamine
I gotta buy some of this, stationary games like beat saber and superhot I can play for hours, but I go 15 minutes in sliding simulators like skyrim vr and my legs are wobbling and I'm ready to vomit.
>>
>>719571017
This. VR is more affordable than ever, and poorfags still complain. They also complain their PC is too weak to handle it when they still have a GPU from 2014 yet go on vacations every year and buy fast food every 2 days and could've easily upgraded their PC.
>>
>>719572125
I mean shit vr is, but a good setup is still over a grand not including the $4000 gaming pc.
Source: $5000 gaming pc and a shitty index
>>
It's a bit annoying to setup
Porn is not as great as I thought specially JAV because well, it's one genre, one gimmick, and a lot of pixels
Not that many 3D games either like that
I haven't tried playing too many games with my Pico 4 but I get motion sickness easy if there's some target shooting
>>
>>719572242
>JAV because well, it's one genre, one gimmick, and a lot of pixels
What a waste of 8k porn god damnit, all this to be a bed-ridden cripple with a blurry pussy.
>>
>>719572383
Yeah at least if only it was uncensored
I'm not sure about where to get good western VR porn
>>
>>719572476
I got some off 1337x.to and some russian sites but it's a pain and you can't search "vr" on most torrent sites because it's too short a search term, find companies that make vr porn and search their tags, I even managed to find trans pegging taker pov so there can be variety.

I lost 80lbs basically just by playing Ragnarock everyday so I consider it a worthwhile investment
>>
>>719570831
Devs made non-vr versions of their VR games now so...
>>
>>719572228
I've done it with a $2000 PC with the meta quest 2....unless you're one of those anons that still complain about facebook when it doesn't need that shit anymore. You can already play half life alyx at near high settings with a 1080 tier card. And there aren't that many games that need strong PCs.
>>
>>719572125
Nobody WANTS it you dickhead. Nobody cares if your turd is one dollar or one million dollars. Delusional VR cope. People don't want it because you have NO GAMES.
>>
>>719572837
With all due respect my monitor has a higher resolution than that thing.
Resolution and fov are all that matter (also OLEDs because TN is TRASH)
>>
>>719572860
Theres tons of games. You're confusing steam having 10k chess clones to VR having 1000's of high quality games being made every year.

I mean, I just dropped like 2k (CAD) on a full setup (used) and a brand new PC just for the purpose of playing VR sloppa, can't say I regret it. It's not gonna take over the industry, but I it's definitely got its' place and is very fun. For racing games especially it cannot be beat.

remember when valve made a half life game only to sell their VR headset?
remember that it had 0 cultural impact?
lmao
>>
>>719573098
Sure. Skyrim VR, Half Life Alyx, VR Chat, Superhot. The same games we've been hearing over and over for years now.
>>
VR gives me motion sickness.
99% of VR games are literally unplayable because of this.

I have a few more, but they are all old shit, jet island in particular is probably the best vr game and it's from 2018
Do you not play old slop all the time anyway tho?
>>
It needs adaptative lenses you can switch for people with glasses zo you can play without your glasses. That's it.
>>
>>719570831
>Now nobody remembers it existed.
Hundreds of games on Steam. Huge modding community. Used headsets go for next to nothing. Porn.

It's in a pretty good place where it is. Honestly if it hit the mainstream, it would just get worse. I'd rather have enthusiasts making cool shit than a billion retards jumping on the fad train.
>>
>>719573813
Sorry, not everything has to accommodate your disability.
>>
>>719573820
Where's the killer app? Where's the VRMMO people have been wanting for 30 years? Where's the games with meat, complexity, scale? Every single one I've seen just looks like a crappy arcade game or tech demo.
>>
>>719574685
>implying it's not a common problem
>>
>>719570831
Gee shit batman I wonder why
>make VR program that simulates the massive movie theater screen
>put movie theaters out of business

It's like water-powered cars and the cure to cancer: they're not gonna let us advance with useful technology too much because of the need to maintain the economic conditions.

Take a look around you, the enshitification of gaming has been upon us for a long time, there hasn't been a killer app in gaming since maybe gta5 12 years ago.
>>
>>719574736
Where are the non-VR version of those amazing games?

>Here's another re-release of GTA V
>Enjoy Fortnite's 22nd season

Games are in a shit state. Innovation has taken a backseat to microtransactions. A great game won't earn as much money as a fucking cosmetic made in a week by one guy.
>>
>>719573813
I do as well, but you can get acclimated through exposure pretty quickly. What I had to do was play a motion VR game until I feel a bit dizzy, then take a break for 5 minutes or so, and do that for an hour since at first I'd get barfy in about 15 minutes of playtime. Do that once a day for a week and your brain should adapt to the idea that visual motion and physical motion aren't linked. Don't ever try to play through motion sickness though, it's not a wall to break and you'll just spiral worse and worse.

Fair enough.

>VR IS DEAD AND BAD
>no it's not
>YES IT IS NO GAMES
>there are games
>BAD GAMES VR IS DEAD
Every VR thread is this same formula. Would be cool to see a quality VR thread. Just someone sharing something cool they are enjoying in VR. The problem is most of the people who enjoy VR (mostly kids) don't spend time on 4chan. They spend all their time on tiktok and in VR. And really here's the thing : that is the superior life to live.

You get used to it really quickly if you use your headset everyday for a week or two
>>
>>719573820
Just look at this pile of turd. This is exactly why VR is dead. Not even the PS5 is this bad.
>>
>>719574820
They'll just move the economy to the VR metaverse. People already spend stupid amounts of real life money on in game currency in some VR stuff. Most notably VR poker, where the chips aren't worth anything except to keep playing in game when you don't want to wait to get free chips with a spin.
>>
facebook killed VR, it's all shitty low budget mobile shit now because of zuck
