The R2 remake looks good. The R3 remake seems like a great little game, but it just being the less remarkable level from the original is a bit disappointing.
The Unreal Engine fangame using assets from the old games seems... Interesting, to say the least. Like a mishmash of a whole bunch of features and concepts from across the series.
The Legends mods/DLCs all have potential, although some seem to have received more efforts than others.
Not really interested in much else.

RaymanPC's admins contacted Ubisoft and asked if Michel Ancel could do an AMA on the forum. Ubisoft agreed but then ghosted the RaymanPC admins. There is a long history of incidents on the RaymanPC forum including a group on the site bullying a 12 year old boy to suicide which ended up making french news, numerous user accounts being hacked by the same group, users being blackmailed for money and user's private messages being spammed with gore and child porn. Are you? The original three games are wildly different from each other. Each remake would be a project of its own, you couldn't have one team deal with all the games at once, realistically speaking.
A Rayman 1 remake would take the most amount of re-designing, from gameplay mechanics to level design, unless they only bothered to make Rayman Redemption again but with HD sprites
>>
>>719590473
Rayman Redemption is a fan project tho?

Were ANY of the Rayman games any good?
>>
>>719587470
Rayman 2 reimagined is shit because it's not faithful at all. Out of all the things, why would you want to make a new soundtrack for it? Rayman 2's music was one of the best things about it, these so called fans barely understand what makes these games good in the first place so I can't be bothered
>>
>>719590726
Meant to say redreamed, not reimagined. Though reimagined is a very fitting word considering the changes they go for.
>>
>>719590697
Yes. I meant, a Rayman 1 remake would take a long time to redesign, if the intent is making a proper re-imagining.
Rayman Redemption is basically as close you can get to a remaster/remake that's still the same thing as the original, despite being unofficial. I personally don't have much interest in seeing a Ubi's version of that

>>
>>719590176
I don't think they need to, just port existing versions on modern platforms like >>719589451 says and call it a day.
Rayman 1 still looks great to this day due to 2D art, the controls are tight and feel really good for platformer, OST is memorable. Yes, some cages hidden behind invisible gendoors in weird locations suck, but there's no need to remake it just for that. Difficulty is also overblown just because the graphics make Rayman 1 look like a kid's game. And Redemption is a good example as why you shouldn't bother with remaking Rayman 1 - fucked up gameplay physics, casualized, bloated with low-quality sprites (and censored some of original ones just because your buddy on Twitter asked to) and dialogues dialogues dialogues. Some stuff is fine for one-time thing (Magician's Challenges, Moskito levels, Boss Rush, Dark Legacy) but I never bothered to replay that content after first clear (and thus I never bothered with Redemption ever again).
Rayman 2 was already remade like twice during its original run (with Dreamcast and PS2 versions being different compared to most other versions), and I think the biggest issue with this game is that the highs are very high but the lows are very low, and there are way too many levels that hit low. You need to basically redesign a bunch of unfun levels to make remake worth it, otherwise just replay the original.
Rayman 3 still looks and plays fantastic to this day and I have no idea why do you even need a remake for this game, don't fucking touch it, it's good as it is.

If you don't pirate and you're interested in owning the Rayman games you can get Rayman 1, 2 and 3 off GOG. Jewbisoft delisted the OG version of BG&E from Steam in order to sell the shitty remaster and they might do the same with the Rayman games if they announce some shit Rayman "remasters"

a non-broken remaster with better camera and a bunch of QoL improvements would be great

>>
>>719591453
Didn't like any of the many gimmick levels and the standard levels I feel were lacking in the platforming department. I'm not asking for Rayman 1 tier bullshit, I just want something a little more interesting and engaging.

Credit where credit is due: the level where you have to ride fruits/orbs through the lava was neat, I've never played anything like it. And overall I really like the aesthetic, atmosphere, all that. Just most of the levels are meh.

>Those origins/legends game
What the fuck, those look official, how far have fans actually gone with modding Origins/Legends?

I remember that for a long time mods used to just be stuck with at best being sprite edits/recolors but these guys are making custom assets, custom levels, and that Journey DLC had custom lighting.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining as the UbiArt engine is great and I love the different physics of both games but I feel like I missed some huge happenings in the modding scene with how far you can mod these two games. I was only aware of the Rayman 2 developments and Rayman 4 leak/decomp

I'm surprised nobody's talking about that Rayman 4 game, that looks cool, and I'm glad someone's making something with what got discovered from that leak
>Ubisoft message
Unexpected but I will believe it when I see it since I don't trust modern Ubisoft at all
Christophe Héral was based though
Also damn this Rayman 2 demo is 3GB
>>719590176
>>719590473
Rayman 1 would probably be in the UbiAr-oh wait Ubisoft disbanded that team.
Rayman 2/3 would probably be UE5 games though and would definitely share the same physics like how the Crash and Spyro remakes do
>>
>>719591453
Before starting with levels I'll mention combat system - it sucks. Yes, it looks cool to shoot out tons of small projectiles and charge big ass one, but the combat is designed in the least satisfying way - either enemies (mostly robo-pirates) die in 1-2 hits or they have shitton of HP and fucking i-frames out of their ass (so there's no fucking point for projectile spam, you never benefit from it during the entire game, it just looks cool and that's it) - try to fight those asshole spiders and you understand what I mean. Big projectile is also never really viable, especially if you have golden fist - there's a high chance you'll get hit before you finish charging it while you could just shoot a few small ones during the same time while being able to dodge enemies or enemy projectiles. Neither Rayman 1 nor Rayman 3 had such issues with combat system (I'll just go and say that Rayman 3 had the most satisfying combat system out of original trilogy, and it helps that sound design makes landing your hits so juicy).
Bosses also kinda suck, only Foutch is pretty okay.
As for the levels - there are a bunch of shitty ones, but I can mention good ones first:
>Woods of Light
Short but sweet tutorial level to showcase your awesome 3D graphics.
>Bayou
The actual nice swamp level, have nothing bad to say about it.
>Sanctuary of Water and Ice
Good atmosphere that I wish was more present in Rayman 2 (aka not yet another underground or tunnel level that plague Rayman 2), at least before you enter sliding part.
>Menhir Hills
Would be a great level if not for kicking you out midway and forcing you to beat it twice.
>Canopy
Globox gimmick was okay, better than many other gimmick levels, and the atmosphere is once again neat.
>The Precipice
Probably the best showcase level to sell Rayman 2 to someone - a TON of action-packed platforming along with game's main theme in the background.
>Sanctuary of Rock and Lava
A cool level that merges outdoor and underground aesthetics.
>>
>>719592932
Rayman Revolution really should have overhauled the Robo-Pirates combat moves instead of just throwing tons and tons of Robo Pirates at Rayman 24/7
>>
>>719593053
When I first played Rayman Revolution, it seemed like the definitive version, now it feels like it dilutes the core experience and adds bloat. I don't like the overworld in the Dreamcast version so PC is the best

>>
>>719592129
I mean, considering Rayman was retconned to be the only one of his kind in R2... It makes sense to try and bring all the games together in a single semi-cohesive universe
>>
>>719591320
>Rayman 1
Generally agreed, but I thought Redemption was alright (aside from toy world art and the physics yea), though I don't know why I see anons in Rayman threads that say to play that over Rayman 1 since Redemption isn't even a remake with how it has it has its own story.
It's really just a fan game based off Rayman 1, like an alternate Rayman 1 or something.
Even then, it's still better to have played Rayman 1 first so you can better appreciate what Redemption does.
>Rayman 2
I don't feel it has that many lows, the only lows I can think of are: swimming with the whale level, cave of bad dreams lasts for way too long (before jano), plum riding in the lava temple, and I guess the shell levels for the people that get filtered by the shell
>Rayman 3
The score system could do with some better rewards, since the game is designed around the score system, but it's not relevant whatsoever
Grasping at straws I know
>>719592687
No, every Rayman game takes place in the same world. The world just changes drastically because Polokus changes it with his dreams

>Iron Mountains
Overall a great level that gets COMPLETELY ruined by its last part.
Now for the lows
>Marshes of Awakening
I hate this level simply because of how annoying it is to collect lums, because by missing a single one you're forced to suicide and try again. Never loved on-rails platforming levels with collectibles being present (see Prison Ship and flying shell section as a good example - just enjoy the process without forcing the player to look out for shit to collect)
>Walk of Life / Power
Why are they a thing? The platforming is not fun or difficult in these and pointless time limit is the only gimmick. I'd be okay with just one but why make two of them? And once again, go collect lums when missing them is basically punished by timeout - don't add collectibles to these kind of levels.
>Sanctuary of Stone and Fire
Oh my god, fuck off with this level.
BOY, I HOPE YOU LIKE LAVA AND PLUMS
Knockback movement system is fine but holy fuck this level is like 20-30 minutes of slowly swimming across lava on plum. And why force the player to swim across the same lava section TWICE (or was it thrice if you wanted those yellow lums in the air)? Pic related (that optional area outside with walking shell at the end of it) was the only really fun part because it was fun platforming with lava.
>Top of the World
Haha, more on-rails levels with easy-to-miss yellow lums! And then the second half is filled with those barrel faggots with tons of i-frames up their asses! Sometimes I enjoy replaying PS1 version just because this level is removed from it.
>Beneath the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava
Cool, you finally got an ability to infinitely fly like with magic potion in Rayman 1! So you get the cancerous on-rails level (with wind up your ass) where not only floor is lava but walls and ceiling as well. A total disappointment after previous half, I don't think this level was ever needed.
>>
>>719592932
Did the combat really bother you that much? You do so little of it throughout the game.
Rayman 2's combat is definitely not as good as 3's, but the combat is so sparse throughout the entire game that it's clearly just something complementary to vary up the gameplay a bit from platforming all the time.
Like that's the one thing people never talk about because you do so little of it compared to actual platforming

If there's one thing Rayman 2 needed it was more interesting platforming design in its levels.
I like the early levels, but I always wished the later levels got a bit more creative with the challenges, like how Rayman 1 always throws new things at you in every world.
>>719592129
Don't mind it but I found it weird since the raypeople thing was only around for Rayman 1 until it's randomly back in Origins and Legends but then they change the magician.
I think it would have been funny if the magician became evil because Polokus forgot what he looked like so he pictured him as a teensie

Somehow I forgot to mention Cave of Bad Dreams and Whale Bay, so
>Cave of Bad Dreams
Most scary level in the game, and that Jano section gave a bunch of people nightmares... but the Jano fight is sooooooooooooooo long and unfun, yet another on-rails section with easy-to-miss yellow lums during Jano slide, and slowly carrying two orbs across two bigass rooms was not fun. Just speed up all that slow shit and the level would be great.
>Whale Bay
Nice first and last sections of the level, but the underwater one? Fuck off, you intentionally designed that piranha to be no-fun-allowed annoying piece of shit, and entire Superman 64 ring (oh wait, bubble) thing is not fun.
>Tomb of the Ancients
Nice spooky atmosphere, different from Cave of Bad Dreams. But I'm so fucking tired of slow ass floating barrels, and the entire "go flip three switches out there to move forward" was done way worse than in the first section of Echoing Caverns (where you had to flip four but the layout of that section was way better).
>Iron Mountains (baby Globox part)
WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA
Another reason why I ever bother to replay PS1 version of Rayman 2 - the ship is not there, the level ends after walking shell and giant robo chicken part.
>Final boss
It's just a very unfun and punishing boss, so I can't blame people for going after infinite ammo secret and going ham on Razorbeard. I'd be okay with this difficulty in Rayman 1 but not in Rayman 2, at least make him fun AND difficult. Somehow the fight in PS1 version was more fun and didn't force you to restart after one mistake.

>>719594260

Yeah, you need to dump that disc NOW.
That's almost certainly a beta/alpha version of Rayman 2 for the GC version, the devs would burn the disc to test it for the GC on a devconsole
Dolphin could probably run it when it gets dumped, you should try to publicly post about it in rayman fan communities to see if someone made a tool or something

Anyway put the disc in your CD drive or if you don't have one you'll need to buy an external one you can plug into your PC with USB
Put the disc in the CD drive and see if the files show up, if they do then just copy paste them on a folder on your desktop, zip it, then upload it.

If that doesn't work then you'll need to use an actual program to do the dump like Media Preservation Frontend
https://github.com/SabreTools/MPF

If that doesn't work then I'm not sure, usually GameCube games are ripped using a hacked Wii but that's not a GC game

That disc is for the Gamecube NR Reader. It's a devkit hardware that only reads that specific disc format which doesn't need a Nintendo barcode and is written with a separate device. The disc and drive are mutually exclusive with the normal NGC disc/drive.

I humbly request square 1x1 icon/pfp pictures of rayman girls
I prefer barbara but I would appreciate the nymphs or other girls too

how maby kids do you have in your basement

zero
I rent a studio and am not a criminal
I am asking for pfps cause I deleted my pfp folder by accident and am trying to refill it
pfps of rayman himself are easy to find but barbara and nymphs are harder and I rather not go through the pain of cropping fanart
>>
what's the most memorable part in all of rayman and why is it Band Land?

Legitimate leakers who've been right numerous times have all said that Ubisoft will be remastering and rereleasing Rayman 3 and other older Ubisoft titles (which has already started happening with the Beyond Good and Evil remaster), why did Ubisoft put their stamp of approval on Rayman Alive, which advertised a fan made Rayman 3 remaster and Rayman 2 remaster?
>>
>>719590724
Even the Rabbids one in Wii was good.
>>
>>719598472
Assuming that you play the patched version that makes it work on a modern PC and fixes the soundtrack then it is completely fine, still slightly inferior to the PS1 version but not by that much, the ones that you should avoid are the Jaguar, GBA and the Saturn ones.

But honestly just emulate the PS1 version, it is the easier way to play the game nowadays.
