Everyone knows that the best time for SW video games was the late 90s and early 2000s. I think the trick to make good SW games is to lean into the video game-y aspects. Don't try to make an interconnected world with subquests or whatever, make sure that everything is very clearly level based with bosses and powerups. From there settle on the genre(s) you want. I think the most obvious winners would be:1) Starfox64 style rail shooter. Give you different choices for the ships and have ways of unlocking new routes by doing hidden objectives in level. Make it big budget and look very nice with lots of characterization and dialogue to make you care about your team and to flesh out the villains (even though they should still stay campy and over the top evil).2) Rogue Squadron/Battle for Naboo style mission based game with large, explorable levels with secrets in them.3) LEGO Racers style racing game with powerups, shortcuts, and a huge variety of levels/biomes.I'd like exactly one huge interconnected world game which would basically be a PG version of GTA or maybe V:TMB The key would be that THE JEDI AND SITH ARE NOT IMPORTANT. There would be an optional sidequest or two that allows interested players to become a Jedi or Sith but 90% of the game would be you as a Han Solo style rogue. You don't need to be a rebel/empire person but both of those would be viable paths once you hit about 3/4 of the game. The primary focus is what a mostly 'regular' person in the SW world has to deal with and your protagonist by default is only doing things out of self interest, not some grand idealism.
