Most of these discord groups are law enforcement honeypots baiting people into escalating high off ego before a mass crackdown when they've outlived their usefulness of fomenting discourse. You don't see it reported on because reporting on it will keep people from falling for it, and the ones falling for it are typically pussies who bend the knee and become assets later. 4chan is also notoriously easy to root around in. The backdoor that got the site taken down this year was one that's been in use by orgs for at least a decade now, and there's plenty more where that came from. Its also incredibly easy to cross-reference IPs to deduce which VPN a user is using, cross it with said VPNs database. Most modern VPNs aren't even real VPNs, just a service that gives the illusion that you're using one on the user end, and the real ones file away everything you do while connected to it for law enforcement in case they need it. Furthermore, you can cross this with ISP info that also logs everything, which also has backdoors. Most of these companies outsource and go through employees so often that a carefully concocted resume and social engineering gets you everything you could want without any oversight because theyre excepting you to be dumb as shit and using AI anyway. Same with becoming a janny or a reddit mod.
