Get as many hits as you can early on, and when he starts to spin the flower just sit in a corner until the flower is almost back to him after which you can land a few more hits. Do the same when he spawns the second flower, and heal when he's spinning both of them. On my winning attempt I only got hit twice. Can't speak for his radiant version, but he did kick my ass when I was learning him in the Hall of Gods.
