reposting before sleep rip ont>The Hits+ Game might look slow at first, but once you understand how it ticks and start playing against other players it speeds way up and feels great (dynamic camera apparently also helps but I never turned it on)+ I feel like it's the right balance of being a chaotic fuckfest and still being able to do well if you're good enough. Although there are still those times where you're just gonna get fucked over.+ The gear system is fantastic and actually does encourage messing around with vastly different setups. Some will just follow the meta, but I had a good time trying tons shit out.+ Festival races are way more fun than I was expecting them to be and the rate in which you get festival rewards was perfect+ Unlocking everything in general is snappy, no CTR bullshit coin grind to try to make you buy mtx here+ Other than the occasional lobby disconnect I never had an issue with the online+ Jukebox mode with songs unlockable through Time Trials+ Customization options always welcome+ Enjoyed all the ONT tracks+ Sega crossover choices so far are cool>The Shits- Very questionable roster overall, there's the obvious Paramount shit which you can at least somewhat ignore by not buying the DLC. But even without that you have a bunch of spots taken up by shit like Sonic Prime characters, more forced Deadly Six and Charmy. This is what originally killed my interest in the game, especially as someone who is more of a Segafag than a Sonicfag- I don't mind the 1st place rape items, but there are too many auto-targeting items- Customization is limited due to no decal stacking allowed and the kart part stats are negligible- Music is mostly forgettable- Don't like that you can't fail tricks anymore- Not a common occurrence, but collision was sometimes wonky as hell and lead to me getting smacked off of tracksFun 8/10 vidya. Not worth $70 and not as good as Transformed, but keysite prices mixed with the ONT convinced me to pre-order.
- Courses are too small, bumper car clusterfucks constantly.- Items are too chaotic and spammy. - The effects of stats is hard to notice when you can go from 1 to 12 or 12 to 1 in like 3 seconds because everyone is constantly shooting items off. - Speed tied to rings is stupid considering how much you get hit and lose them. - Boosting is not very effective when you can hit a level 4 max boost and still get passed by someone driving regularly.- What are half of these stages? Transformed had more distinct Sonic stages. The only ones I recognize are the one from '06 and Casino Zone. Where's Green Hill? Angel Island? Oil Ocean? Doomsday Zone? The sand and ice stages barely resemble Sandopolis or Ice Cap.- No boost character? Why isn't Jet one? - Item frequency seems fucked up and random. Some items are virtually worthless, others dramatically OP.- Gears is an interesting system but feels like it will shoehorn people into a meta.Wanted to like it, but went from Day 1 to Maybe on Sale for me.
