Got a new game room upgrade and we'll I'm about 7 feet from the wall.

So what size do you guys recommend? I'll be running games at 4k. So should I go 42, 65, or 77 inches?
>>
>>719592556
Get a projector instead
>>
>>719592556
always go with the biggest high quality tv you can get
>>
I think 77" would be fine. 42" is absolutely guaranteed too small.
>>
largest europoor flat
>>
65" is the old dated baseline. go with 77" and above. If i had the money i would use 85" as the minimum starting point or higher if any good deals are around
>>
Big enough that it takes up all of your focused vision but not too big you need to turn your head
>>
>>719592556
How did you even get through that tiny door?
>>
we don’t need tvs in 2020+5 anymore
>>
>>719593485
The door in the picture is a crawlspace/attic entrance, not the primary door into the room. I'm not the OP but I'm also not a retarded child so I was able to figure it out in .00003 seconds.

FPBP. TVs suck these days. Get an ultra short-throw laser projector and a nice ALR screen and you'll be set.
>>
>>719592556
WHAT DO YOU CALL THOSE CHAIRS
I had one of those as a kid, I probably spent thousands of hours playing SNES/N64 games at my dad's house in THAT CHAIR. I need it! It's the best gaming chair. If no one knows, I will make my own.
>>
>>719592670
Don't do this if you care about latency OP
>>
>>719592556
How's he shooting a laser from his eyes?
>>
>>719594183

he saw a rain drenched fat weeaboo girl walk into gamestop
>>
>>719594110
There are projectors specifically designed with low latency for gaming. You could buy one right now if you wanted. Not as good as a top gaming monitor ofc but more than good enough for (you).

Basic wizard power. Are you unvirgin or something?
>>
>>719592556
I say 65 just because bigger screens generally have worse refresh rates and input delay among poor price to performance.
>>
>>719594051
We had one almost exactly like that. Judging by the time most of the other stuff in that house was bought, searching "70s/80s lounge chair" might be able to point you in the right direction.
Hope you can find it bro
>>
>>719594320
Can I still get wizard powers if I only engaged in oral sex?
>>
>>719594308
>good enough for (you)
I'm a counter strike sweat so if I have to play on anything under 400hz I start screaming and throwing things. Might look into that for comfy couch gaming if they've actually improved that much though
>>
>>719592556
22"
you don't have bad eyesight anon, do you?
>>
>>719592556
As big as you can afford.
>>
>>719593840
Why? Like no matter how much they fucking claim to not get washed out any other light source ruins the picture unless your playing in a pitch dark room. Projectors just are not worth it
>>
>>719592556
7ft is too close for big TV's, anything more than 55 would be too much.

>>
I have the same distance between me and my 65, I find it too big, would go with a 55 instead.

In front of you are two paths, the Japanese way which is going small like a 30" TV with almost no furniture to make the room feel much bigger than it actually is & have better air circulation, or the American boomer "home theater" way which is filling that entire wallspace with an 80" TV & a fat ass recliner with barely enough room to get in & out & it will feel a hell of a lot hotter & stuffier. No there is no middle ground you have to choose now.

projectors are bad
you have to wait for the picture to appear on the wall instead of it being there instantly on the tv
>>
>>719597292
How long do you have to wait usually?
>>
>>719597450
too long

A TV is the last thing you need, hit the gym bro.
>>
>>719592556
Ideally the screen should take up around 40-60 degrees of your vision.
With first person vidya you might want to be a little closer than with movies.
>>
>>719592670
i'm probably gonna do this for tv and movies, fuck smart tvs and their ai shit and endless ads
>>
>>719598328
lol, just turn the wifi off of your smart tv and you'll never see anything like that again

STOP SITTING SO CLOSE TO THE TV ITS BAD FOR YOUR EYES
>>
>>719592556
that's pretty close so 42 should be more than enough

There's no way this lady was an actress, they actually just filmed someone's real mom in the middle of menopause.
