>>719595860Actually they are an example of good movieslop. Sure, it has like 6 hours of cutscenes, but ALL of them are skipable and the gameplay is always on the action. They never force you into long and boring walking sections where you do nothing (Phantom Pain does, sadly). Even MGS4 which is infamous for having a cutscene that lasts 30 minutes gets straight into the action if you skip all of them.

(of course some of this shit gets retconned later on) but the story is concise and there's enough shit to discover.I actually think that's one of the best parts of MGS. Gameplay wise, it generally is left for you to do whatever the fuck you want which leads to pretty unique runs. Shit, I'm having fun with Delta just because I forgot how much shit you could actually do in 3 to confuse guards.

Play Ground Zeros, then go into MGSV and believe that Venom is Chico. You would be surprised at how thematically fitting it is, and how much of it lines up to make sense.

MGS3 is fun. MGSV is permanently stuck on journalist difficulty.
Subsistence is still the best way to play 3 so replay that or MGSV I guess.
