Story sucked and there's nothing left to salvage. Nu-Blizzard writers aren't capable of coming up with a compelling story, as much as it matters. It's a PvP RTS and that's the only mode that means anything. Unfortunately if it comes back they will likely cater to the co-op crowd and the core gameplay will suffer.

Should've been a bittersweet ending where Kerrigan becomes irredeemably evil and needs to be killed, but after her death her soul is freed and she apologizes for her actions.

>>719603225I don't think it'll ever be touched in a meaningful way again. The SC2 story wrote itself into a corner and destroyed any possibility of a sequel. Numerous novelizations after SC1 set the stage for it as well. There's no other option than to go back to the end of SC1 and start from the ground up, but there's too much pride involved to ever admit to such a mistake.I think the best option is to simply wait another 15 years when SC has slipped most everyone's mind, then make another space opera setting featuring a low class, rag tag group of humanity on a distant world attempting to survive in a situation that's way over their heads. There's no reason to work on the Starcraft IP anymore, it's dead and can't be resurrected since it's impossible to divorce it from its pathetic SC2 story or its esports background.
