a lot of times autism is romanticized as an awkward person with very specific mental powers like being extremely good at math, but the reality is that most autistic people are just insufferable and uncapable of being functional adultsand they don't have special skills to make up for it, they just hyper fixate on random shitthe worst part of autism is that a lot of people self diagnose and use it as an excuse for being just stupid losers who aren't suffering any mental problems and just happen to be immature, annoying and with a shitty will that only pushes them to get worse
>>719610085It is very difficult to create a character who irrationally behaves badly but is also likable, the worst autistic characters are the ones who are just depicted as being a little awkward but also savant geniuses. An autistic character should be genuinely worse off overall then the people around them because of their autism, that way their bad behaviour can be pitied rather than seen as them just being an asshole. Really, what you have to do is not have everyone around them be supportive and accepting, because that takes away the most serious disadvantage with being an autistic person, problem is that most writers are cowards and want their main characters to be accepting and nice to the autistic person, this ruins their character.
