Do you consider trophies/achievements part of a game or not?
>>
>>719614412
They are part of the meta game, which can also be entertaining.
>>
Of course they're part of the game.
The question is, do you consider trophies/achievements a part worth engaging with?
>do thing 500 times
Is this really content? For some, maybe.

See this is my problem. Alot is made about gamers "not finishing games" but "finishing" a game is some of the most unfun shit imaginable.

TO ME...

If I don't like this what I perceive as busywork do I really like games? It's been bugging me.
>>

Absolutely. Nintendo, maybe xbox and PC suck major shit because they dont reward you with trophies. That is gay as fuck. Playstation records your moments so you can watch them years later and reminisce about the good times you had.
>>
>>719614412
no
but publishers sure seem to want them to replace content
>>
>>719614412
It's like an extra thing for me if I really reaaaly like the game
>>
"part of a game"? not really, I emulate plenty and play plenty of pirated games. I do enjoy achievements but I only go out of my way to 100% games I really loved or if the achievements arent too grindy
often I will do all of the achievements on my playthrough with plans of doing NG+ or postgame to finish them but lose all motivation when the credits hit
I also really like being able to see what % of people did something in a game

Xbox has ruined gaming in many ways but I think the worst thing they ever did was introduce the achievements system.
>>
>>719614412
Can offer a good excuse to fully exhaust a game you like, but I don't consider it part of the experience.

there's nothing wrong with achievements you retarded jaded faggot. simply ignore them it you don't like them it's entirely fucking optional

If yes, then I'll try and get as many as I can. If not, I don't bother.

If you don't care about achievements/trophies at all, then don't bother going for them.

We pirates don't get tempted with that nonsense.

This. Even for some games that I don't realllly like...if the trophy list is decent and not too ridiculous (i.e. forcing you to play through 4-5 times, multiple difficulty level trophies that don't stack, online multiplayer bullshit) then I don't mind doing it. Just recently platted Yakuza Like a Dragon and Spider Man Remastered. Currently doing vanilla P5.
