Doesn't help when the story mode got shafted hard because of it, and all the boss fights kinda suck gameplay wise. 2 cleaned up its act and legitimately could be used as an alternative for consuming the story, but replaying it is a pain in the ass because of how much traveling there is at such a slow pace. It's good on a first playthrough, horrible literally any other time. There's a lot more detail in the overworld, but again, nothing comes of it to be utilized in any meaningful way. I honestly don't even remember if 3 or 4 had a hub, but I do remember 4 going absolutely balls out on presentation which was sick. Shame the story turned to utter dogshit with what 4 covers.

From Nioh, I'd like to see the magical abilities, the animation canceling, the super fluid mobility, and the stance changing. I really like how each weapon in Nioh has three different sets of animations depending on how you're wielding your weapons. From the swift and nimble low stance, to the balanced and counter oriented medium stance, to the heavy and hard hitting high stance. If done properly, you could mirror the difference taijutsu and weapon based styles that we Shinobi use in Naruto.
