What a genuinely bizarre series of choices and events to occur. Is everything corporate a collection of coincidences and tax write offs? I wish Sony playstation was not a california company.

I think there's too many people who think Twitter/Discord/Whatever reflects real life.
>>719625760>snoyshitI'm glad it bombed so hard
>>719626362it's almost like wokeism had been signal boosted on all platform for years while the opposition censored
>>719625760Go woke go broke
>>719625760They don't seem to have learnt anything so I can't wait for the sequel in another few years
Independent of Concord or the development team working on it specifically, until recently the major studio heads probably couldn't comprehend the idea that 9 figure projects could just find zero audience on launch.
>>719626768It certainly had an impact on what they were developing with live service games at least.
>>719625760>bizarre series of choicesmake a propaganda game?>eventslike... making another propaganda game?>a collection of coincidencescoincidences usually related to... propaganda games?
>>719626768People say nobody's learnt anything from Concord when that's provably untrue. Sony's incorporating more executive oversight and integrating QA on all fronts (read, DESIGN and THEME) in all their projects going forward, in their investor call this was they went with about Concord. (Because companies love nothing more than to shift blame and cover up fuck-ups to investors, but concord was literally so bad there was no choice but to own up to it and focus on how you'll make sure it never happens again)Concord's horrible failure is the reason Marathon didn't release when it was set to this year and pushed back. Concord's the reason you're not hearing anything about Fairgame$. I wish it would release so we can laugh even more at this dead fucking proto-genre of woke brown-pink anticapitalism, after Hyenas and lawbreakers and Concord and provably more it's proven to be a pure fucking radioactive substance, like saying to your players "It's fine, you can skip this one"... But being realistic it's probably going to be reworked judging by how quiet it's been on that front, just some reports that in-company they're saying it's not looking great and layoffs (the concord people were laid off iirc? after they joned fairgame$, since the two studios were related from last I could tell and that's where sony reassigned them).
>>719632246You say that but they left Hulst as the guy in charge of playstation owned studios despite being the guy that was like “Wow Concord is going to be a guaranteed hit!”
>>719632246It also directly lead to the cancellation of other in development titles that weren't as far along as Marathon/Fairgame$
>>719625760snoy humiliation ritual
>>719626768Marathon is Concord 2and Fairgame$ is Concord 3Their flops will be farmed as usual on youtube.
>>719632246>our shit game produced by suits in a commitee just needed more suits and more commitee
>>719632474>They didn't fire the guy, so that means they didn't do shitAnother unexpected truth of positions like these is that usually, a firing takes a LONG time and a LOT of fuckups because it's a lot of effort, and very hard to find someone deemed "appropriate" that wants to do it. They won't pick any old shmoe to invite into the C-Suite just because he knows videogames, economy, project management and wants to make good ones (read: someone with passion and competence), they want the kind of credentials of Wallstreet bankers and Fortune 500 company CFO's, because the boomers and other fags in charge of these companies don't have any other ways of measuring how fit someone is for their station. It's dumber and more out-of-touch idiots the further up you go the totem pole. Of course they won't replace the guys below them that are important, they don't fucking know who to pick.
>>719632660I can understand Marathon was developed, even if it isn't likely to do well at this point, but Fairgame$ was destined for failure from the start.
The ugly characters and generic setting don't even matter, they made a game that cost $30 when all the others are free. Was obviously DOA.
>>719626768they learned to not get too committed to anything, supposedly they had a whole universe and multiple projects planned for concord, the amount of money sony lost on concord is ridiculous
>>719635346The magnitude of its failure wasn't because of people consciously thinking "I don't wish to play this because of X/Y/Z" but rather it couldn't make any impression on people to get them to notice it existed at all, which would have been the art not doing anything for it.
