1. I already own a bunch of games on Steam and nothing on switch stores nor does anything from Nintendo interest me.
2. Gyro + flick stick + track pads + steam input mapping means FPS games are not only viable but also outright enjoyable.
3. No cuck fee required to access basic multiplayer functionality.
4. I can easily play games outside of Steam, including pirated game
5. Modding
6. The hardware is "gud enuf" and anything that run poorly on it mean it's poorly optimized and not worth my time.
7. Same goes for the toxic cesspit known as "competitive pvp shooters" with their anti cheat.
8. I just love tinkering shit and familiar with troonix.

Switch 2 is great, but I've realized a lot of switch 1 games will never get patched with higher resolutions.

WIth steam deck I can use if for pc things, like running programs, apps, scripts, and pirating/emulating games. Switch 1 or 2 is a locked-down device for playing a quite limited number of games.
Is boils down to PC vs console. And the better choice has always been PC.

I had a night shift surveillance room response job that essentially lets me spend hours playing games.
At first i played games on my switch but it was limiting as fuck. (I have a switch only for the exclusives i still mostly play it docked at home this was a rare case i used it portable and the tiny screen sucks).
I ended up buying a used gaming laptop for 300$. And its the best decisions i made.
While the screen is not as big its night and day compared to the shitty switch screen.
Not only is it good enough for almost all older games and indie games or ongoing games that came out long ago.
But i can just stream my home gaming PC to it like its some kind of stadia and play my own modern 2000$ gaming PC at work.

THE ONE AND ONLY REASON TO EVER EVER BUY A NINTENDO CONSOLE IS TO PLAY THE EXCLUSIVES
