What are the odds they are making a sequel (either direct or some sort of new take on the franchise) and thats why this anime adaptation is coming out 6 years later? Please, give me some hope...

Honestly fairly high. The story has a direct sequel implication, reception was stratospherically high, and activision needs another prestige boost.
