There is an aggressive, relentless group of fans that will tear apart anything that is not their beloved game Hollow Knight. They've been doing this for years. Everytime there's a notorious metroidvania release you have to deal with these insects. So obviously, they're never not going to hype up this one. The only thing notorious about HK in comparison to most metroidvanias out there is map big.That's really it. More content. More bloat. Animations are simpler than they look. Combat is stiffer than people pretend and, adding hundreds of bosses isn't going to make it any better. Nobody gives a fuck about the lore or characters in this game. It's all about having a big map and more time to waste.The worst thing people can do now is play Hollow Knight just before Silksong, because if it is any similar, it's going to be exhausting as all fuck.

playing it now, it's nice, like the atmosphere and fightsit's kind of a pain to unlearn habits from other games and get used to "touch enemy = die"the worst part is the obnoxious platforming parts like this bit where you have to jump/dash/fall between spikes and the exploding lightning butterflies but you have to press jump just a little (but not too little) or you hit the spikes, I still can't do this shit
