If you really can't force yourself to try a game and complete it, you could turn it into a game itself. I used to do a marble race where each marble represented a game on my backlog. Which ever marble won was the game I played for that week or two. My requirement was that I had to complete it or at least get 75% of the game completed. Do anther marble race, play the game for a week or two (maybe a month if I had a lot going on at that time) then repeat the process again. Managed to knock out about 100 games on my backlog so far.
