I've been on board the ruse cruise for 10 years now, and been playing MGS/MG games since 1998 but even on the newest run through of MGS3 with Delta I am questioning the events here as it feels like one of the most pivotal points in game history. So:Skull Face is always around, always watching, cleaning up bodies/bullet casings/droppings/essentially being a 'Fixer' so regardless of how Snake/BB handles the op he's still going to go down as a one man crew, undiscovered, no witnesses, no traces.EVA getting to Snake in the room Sokolov was held in overnight was never meant to happen. Ocelot shows up with his unit and EVA has already put the hooks into Snake so he blindly goes along with her and doesn't even think to ask Ocelot if he was meant to meet him, doesn't inquire about ADAM. EVA even fails to recite the password phrase but Snake, a highly trained operative, plays complete dumbass and lets her in anyway instead of just killing her.Ocelot was SUPPOSED to meet Snake in the morning accompanied by his unit to explain that he's ADAM and is sent to help, yet thanks to EVA's deception they meet as enemies (again) and continue as enemies throughout the story. Shouldn't Ocelot have known Snake was his contact and said/done SOMETHING different? Anything? Was The Boss's involvement in some manner to protect her son's life here? Ocelot being her son is as far as I know kept secret until later game entries unless I missed a codec call or something in 3, but she acts throughout as if she does not even know the man....but then still participates in something she does not even agree with. Her whole story feels a bit odd, but participation to keep her son safe would help tie it in better. Now beyond the rambling, the questions that came up to mind:
>>719643734Where the actual fuck was Skullface hanging out during this shit that would keep him from being killed by these people, and if he was THAT GOOD at stealth then WHY WASN'T HE THE MAIN OPERATIVE!? The End should have had no issue putting a bullet in his head from a quarter mile away, The Boss or Volgin or Ocelot should've easily been able to handle killing him, somehow our double-triple-crossing characters just still were not keen enough to notice this additional person running around the jungle? Full trained teams of soldiers of all ranks never saw him? Based on his abilities in MGSVTPP he isn't exactly some incredible badass super soldier so I am confused how he possibly managed his role without just being brained. Was EVA genuinely not told the pass phrase, or was she also just very dumb in that moment, or was she an early experiment on the AI to some degree and incapable of saying La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo?What even was the Boss's purpose in this, I have played MGS3 on PS2 a dozen or so times and now Delta and I've watched the cutscenes/codec calls a handful of times and read into lore a decent bit and I STILL do not fully understand what the hell she was doing here other than potentially protecting Ocelot or just looking for someone to finally kill her so she could rest.
>>719643734>>719643789With Ocelot we have him discussing how through the op nobody really even knew he was ADAM. When Snake knocks him out, shouldn't Skull Face have taken him and the other Ocelot unit members out? They had seen Snake, they were now witnesses. Skull Face doing his job right in every other aspect but sparing Ocelot? I feel like he actually knew Ocelot was ADAM, enough to not kill him at least but we are consistently shown Ocelot to be 9000 steps ahead of everyone else in a given situation and yet he didn't have any knowledge whatsoever that a dude with a fucked up face was cruising around the jungle knowing his identity? And why the hell wouldn't Skull Face have intervened to stop EVA who completely threw the plan off by stealing ADAM's meeting with Snake?A last thought, we know MGS2's op is set up to run a data gathering exercise of sorts for training through Raiden by having him run a very similar sequence to the one Solid Snake ran in Shadow Moses but if you consider the layout of MGS3 it is not entirely dissimilar to MGS1 even going so far as to include battles against an agile enemy with stealth camouflage, a legendary sniper, a powerful character wielding a heavy weapon that is too dangerous to face head on (Fury/Vulcan Raven), and of course the fights vs a Metal Gear-type enemy. This makes me question if MGS1's events were also set up as part of a training exercises for the Patriots to develop their AI, with MGS2 echoing MGS1 which echoes MGS3 and throughout the storyline it is consistently referenced that they're undergoing a training exercise at the base which you're meant to believe is referencing the REX dummy launch tests but as we learn in MGS2 with similar conversations it was referencing that the entire operation is the training op. That in mind, was it possible MGS3 was the basis for which MGS1's op and thus MGS2's op were run with the latter two being carefully crafted pseudo-simulations?

Its not cannon, just disregard everything from PP, it didn't happen. Same with peace of shit walker
>>719643734>>719643789>>719643902My captcha on the OP was >DDPTD>Diamond Dogs Post Traumatic (stress) DisorderIt never fucking ends. Also b4 >Reddit spacing>1pbtid>etcFuck off this isn't /pol/ and you're not a woman
everyone else also thought that skull face working behind the scenes of snake eater was retarded, kojima obviously made this shit up as he went along so dont think too hard about it.>Was EVA genuinely not told the pass phrase, probably not which is why she makes a nervous grunt
>>719643734You're really thinking too hard. That whole Skull Face/XOF shit was universally shat on and ridiculed, it shouldn't even be taken seriously. Ocelot in the context of MGS3 was getting to the point of ridiculousness too. Like you said he was meant to help Snake but every time he showed up he spared no quarter in trying to get him killed. I guess MGS4 made it in-character in retrospect because he tries to kill Solid Snake the whole time too in that game too despite him wanting Snake to succeed. And then MGSV him introduce the whole doublethink thing so now it's even less farfetched.
>>719643734Skullface being involved in MGS3's events is a worse retcon then Big Medic being the final boss of Metal Gear 1. Actually thought Big Medic was a tolerable retcon, not sure why the internet blew up at that instead of XOF's involvement in snake eater
>>719643734>but Snake, a highly trained operative, plays complete dumbass and lets her in anywayShe had special equipment prepared just for him to take, so it makes sense for him to believe that she was the right person.>Shouldn't Ocelot have known Snake was his contact and said/done SOMETHING different? Anything?Do what differently? When would he have had the chance to speak while Eva, or his unit weren't around?Even in his boss fight, you're completely surrounded by the ocelots until the Pain's hornets show up.>Ocelot being her sonVolgin knows that Ocelot is the son of the Sorrow, but doesn't know he's related to the boss; Eva and the boss only know that he's the son of a legendary soldier.Ocelot might know, since he was selected to work for NSA>>719643789>he isn't exactly some incredible badass super soldierYou didn't listen to the tapes
