8th gen was the best gen to date.
Current gen so far has been one of the worst so far though. Ever since Covid everything has slowed down to a crawl but everything has also gotten expensive too. We used to get multiple bangers a year but now we are lucky if we get like 1 or 2 a year and most of the time quickly forgotten because it weren't even that good. Doom Dark Ages for example is easily one of the best games of the year but only because there are barely any decent AAA games being released anymore. Death Stranding 2, another of the best games of the year bu in reality is not that good of a game ither although its graphics are truly impressive though, especially for consoles. E33 in all honesty is a mediocre game overhyped because muh small studio and cheaper price... And this is current gen. This is how it is. Wilds, another mid game, sold 10 millions though but still considered a flop for reasons only Capcom can understand because I doubt the budget for the game was even that big.

When 7th gen was current I was having a blast and everybody told me I was a gay retard with no taste and gaming is dead or whatever. I disagreed.

Now in 9th gen, I am being told the same. I'll say the quantity output of 7th gen isn't there. Remember we got 4 Dead Space games (one on Wii), 3 Lost Planet Games, 2 Soul Caliburs, 3 FEARs, etc. So the quantity of games has decreased. But I'd argue that we do have is very fun. And in a way instead of getting 3 smaller 10 ish hour games you just get one big one. I much prefer former, personally.

The amount as well as quality of noise fans make depends on the blade design. Thanks to competition new computer fans have very efficient blade design that moves a lot of air for little noise. The ps5 has one small fan that has to move a lot lf air all by itself so that the system doesn't throttle. Small fans tend to a lot noisier for the amount of air that they move. PCs can run larger fans in greater quantities which drastically reduces the noise the PC needs to make.

Back with the PS4 people used to complain about the games running at 30fps with drops and the system overheating and sounding like a jet engine. Now with the PS5, games run above 30fps aiming for 60fps and the thing doesn't even sound like a jet engine anymore, hell you don't even need to repaste it because it has liquid metal and with a general cleaning you're good to go

Sometimes I think people here don't even like to play games, they just like to argue about them

don't act like the PS5 doesn't have its fair share of problems. poor performance is not 100% on the software or the hardware, it's a combination of both and they still have software that runs poorly on it for some reason. also the console constantly overheats and it got so bad that it melted the USB ports on the thing (who would have thought that having the ports by the air outlet would be bad) and Sony had to issue a patch to underclock the damn thing
