What are actually the best games for exploring? This isn't cutting it because everything feels the same.
I highly suggest Wuthering Waves
This is the Chatgpt answer to my question so your gonna have to get creative>>719658621I will try that thanks
>>719658516Northern Journey. Don't let the fact that it isn't open world fool you. The game is all about exploring and hiking. Also spiders. Lots and lots of spiders.

>>719658516Skyrim, Morrowind
>>719658516Xenoblade Chronicles X
>>719659263>>719660072>Wii U>>719659778I haven't played Skyrim since release but I recall it being fairly repetitive as well. Maybe Im wrong. Morrowind is my favorite of those three.
>>719660651>Wii UEmulate it.
>>719658516Is exploration mainly a mechanial or visual thing for you? If you want exploration to be rewarding to play and not just to see, then I'll recommend Dark Souls 1 and Lords of the Fallen 2023. If you just want to see pretty vistas even if all you do is hold forward on the left stick without thinking even once then I recommend Elden Ring.
>>719658516Morrowind+Tamriel Rebuilt
>>719661645I bought Elden Ring but its too stressful. Want something where I can wonder around, explore and maybe kill some bad guys. How would recommend playing Elden Ring then? Like the catacombs have been annoying.
>>719658516KCD1 and 2.
>>719658516Witchfire
>>719663173Have you tried Dragon's Dogma? The downside is that it doesn't have anywhere near the variety in environments as Elden Ring, but it's much easier and you'll travel with a party.
>>719658516Skyrim and MorrowindAny fallout gamePeople shit on Bethesda but they are still one of the few companies that was ever able to pull off open world games.
>>719658516Skyrim with a large modlist. I prefer Tuxborn. There's almost too much to do which is how I like it.
>>719658516subnautica
>>719658516Elden Ring
Are there any open world games with a sense of danger or risk and reward to them?I thought MMOs might have this, but every MMO i've tried the open world has been shallow and so trivially safe and easy its a joke (mmos fans will tell you unironically to play through 100 hours of a games horrible easy open world and tell you "the game is good at the end xD" when there is nothing but linear dungeons you run 1000s of times)I want a game where I feel like i'm walking into mordor and give me the sense of "I really shouldn't be here"
Horizon zero downDid not played second part
>>719660651>>Wii UIts on Switch now
>>719658516Enderal
>>719658516>> SubnauticaYou really should play this game
>>719658621How much does this shit differ from genshin, last i played it was in 2020 maybe, exploration was just open chests, kill camps of brown people, do a little copy pasted minigame puzzle, exploration there was awful
GothicGothic 2: die Nacht of the kruk

>>719658516They aren't perfect but the OG Oblvion has the Nehrim mod, and Skyrim has Enderal. Both pretty good if you want to explore.
>>719658516wait for skyblivion
>>719664419I had that a lot with runescape as a kid. Wandering into the wilderness or high level areas. The first couple hours of a fallout game. Not much I can think of
>>719664693Enderal looks fantastic and I like the inspiration they took from Gothic but it feels like such an asset flip to me. If you put so much effort into creating a game go all the way and create your own models, textures and sound effects.
>>719663415Yeah I can't vouch for KCD2 yet but the world of KCD1 is great. More quality than quantity. It doesn't feel like a theme park, the woods feel very immersive to explore.
>>719658516Morrowind with Tamriel Rebuilt and the openmw total overhaul pack.Skyrim with wabbajackMost games don't truly reward exploration. Morrowind though you can stumble into a random cave and find lit stuff
>>719660651Get wabbajack it's a modpack install tool, use that to download and install whatever modpack works for you theme wise and hardware wise
>>719664419have you tried classic WoW? modern mmos have sanitized their open worlds entirely. It's still a slow burn but there are some incredibly immersive hikes in that game. The trek through stranglethorn is great
>>719658837Even chat gpt knows modded Skyrim
>>719658516S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly (vanilla) is great for exploration (stashes with great items around levels) and feeling of world being alive
>>719658621>Anime trashNo thanks
>>719658516Red dead redemption 1 and 2.

>>719666387If only they'd fix up the maps so that you wouldn't see rusted trucks with 128 textures instead of 1024 or higher.
>>719667634it's skyrim with guns, just mod it how you want it to be https://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-anomaly/addons
>>719668074Why aren't fixed up maps part of analmeme? Pretty sure they upgrade quite a few textures. Why not the maps (trucks are part of the map, not textures)?
>>719664419>I really shouldn't be hereMid and end game of subnautica really nails this feelingValheim has endless proc gen exploration but it’s sense of danger is more in not being mechanically ready for the next zone not a sense of dreadDying light 1 and dead island 1 are openish and have some somewhat creepy zombie infested areas
>>719658516Ninelives if you don't mind playing a game that will forever be unfinished
>>719664419I'm going to recommend so called extraction shooters to you. Specifically the forever winter and synduality. They are under the pretense of collecting goods or pvp or surviving but the truth is all of the goods and collectibles are transient and consumable and what makes those games succesful is the feeling of growth and discovery in very dynamic maps. Synduality feels great to play and the eclectic map somehow reminds me of digimon world 1. The best games for exploring arent open world games, they are blobbers like dnd gold collection and non linear rpgs like saga frontier.
>719668626>analmemei don't reply to autistic 10IQ (You) starved bitches, sorry.

>>719658516zelda botw and totk, unironically
>>719658516I always enjoy Arcanum because one day you're talking to a fucking idiot turned monk saying you're the chosen one and the next day you get called a filthy gnome by the nearest barkeep. I know that's not exactly exploration but it has some cultural "exploration" a lot of games lack.
>>719658516Skyrim. The first Kingdom come game without a map was pretty fun too
>>719658621exploration falls flat after a bit, unfirtunately
>>719658516scavanger sv-4

>>719658516We need some 3d actual western rpgs to come out so badly. Its been years. todd wtf
>>719665412This is Genshin with better combat, cool Blue Mage like skills, but worse exploration and especially worse production values. I hear it gets better after the first arc but I stopped playing at that point.
>>719664419Gothic 1 and 2 are exactly what you want. Extremely dangerous to explore in those games but doable and rewarding.
>>719658516Yeah because it ruined the art style. Play the original version.
>>719658516Hogwarts Legacy. Pretty much the only reason to play the game is to explore Hogwarts and surroundings.
Sad fuck trying to shill his mod.Nobody gives a fuck about your shitty fanfic.
>shill>free modlearn the difference between GAMMA and vanilla anomaly and stop getting filtered by three repair items and weapon durability subhuman retardnobody cares about lore
>>719664419valheim is like this when you dont have the gear to go to the next biome
>>719664419Valhiem Certain Skyrim mod lists same with fallout 4. Stalker obviously modded. Morrowind with the full Tamriel Rebuilt mega mod list. Gothic 1&2, enderal, nehrim
