To gen Alpha there are two types of games and they go hand in hand.
First there are Youtube bait games, usually mascot horror of some flavor (Ex: Fnaf, Poppy Playtime, Sprunki) or in the last year AI. These are always FOTM but they introduce kids to a collection of colorful cartoon characters. The kids always love these characters despite never playing their games.
Then there are games they play with their friends and that let them basically do whatever they want. This is your Fortnite, Roblox and Minecraft. They love these games because it lets them take the Youtube bait characters and play with them like toys or create worlds for them or play in minigames and mobile games other people made that are themed around them.
