why aren't you playing morrowind right now?
>>719663653I don't like open world games or action rpgs
>>719663653I don't own it.
I'm too busy, hopefully I'll get some time to make myself a breton agent and play tamriel rebuilt this year...
>>719663653I hate Morrowind
>>719663653Too much reading involved, worst combat in an early 3d game ever programmed by humankind, 3d models that were already outdated when the game was released. You can probably immerse yourself in it if you are willing to forget the last 25 years of progress.
Burnout. Played for 300 hours or so this year. I didn't even finish the new Hlaalu stuff.
>>719664164Its art
>>719663653Oh, but I am.
>>719663653I hate the fantasy genre, wholesale.
>>719663653because im playing kenshi

>>719665243oh FUCK forgot to spoiler that pic whoops
>>719663653because i had to reinstall windows and lost all progress. maybe i'll try tamriel rebuilt next time. what's the best location to start at lvl1?
>>719665398Old ebonheart them by level five you can go to that nearby hlaalu city, then down to thir
>>719663653is there anything similar to morrowind? other TES games don't scratch that itch for me, it's perfect blend of story, lore and gameplay, amount of fetch quests is just right. plus it reminds me of conan for some reason. other rpgs that come close for me were ultima 7, planescape torment and baldur's gate 1 and 2. modern fantasy rpgs are so fucking boring
I rather wait for skywind, morrowind i played too muchhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRp7aIoGpak

>>719665695wizardy 8 and might and magic 6
>>719663653Because I'm playing Black Mesa and Neo Scavenger
>>719666025Not OP, but that seems to be just MGE XE with shaders.
>>719666395nice thanks
>>719665243Why are the ayleids so freakish looking? I know they're sorcerer kings or something but why the change in appearance?
>>719666831daedric pacts ain't free
>>719666979Is there any normal ayleids around? They should still have some cities in the third era right? Didn't see any in anvil
>>719667140ayleids got wiped by the end of 2E. only ones left are the ones in the ruins and they're either liches or "ascended" to aurorans by meridia
>>719666395>>719666025>>719666570It's OpenMW with their shaders
high rock
Got stuck after the 2nd quest, brah. After that cube thing. No idea where to go. I don't know how to establish my position IRL let alone in a pixelated old-ass boomer crapware.
>>719663653I already played through it twice. I've had my fill of cliff racers and corprus
>>719667529I thought project tamriel was going to have ayleid settlements that will be like native american reservations in the US?
I was surprised they didn't show off any of Kvatch in the modcon footage, although seeing Sutch was cool.
>home of the nords>all content released is in the reachuhhh
Why does Peryite, the Prince of Pestilence, not simply kill himself for trying to spread disease in a world where cure disease potions are simple to make and cheap and where any Aedra shrine or priest can cure it, too? What a shitty useless dragon. The other Daedra are even better at his job than him with Hircine and Molag Bal creating Lycanthropy and Vampirism respectively.

>>719668617It's a shame this guy just does gimmick mods. Seems like a talented guy.
>>719668343Probably because in universe those potions are not cheap and shrines and priests can't cure it easily.
>>719668713he really should. he even made that mario royal thing that nintendo dmca'ed then immediately stole and sold

>>719663653
>>719668616i hate modern water on morrowind the contrast is too big, couldn't stand it and had to switch back, much prefer the 2000s stagnant textures

>>719668224modcon was very funny, the tes3 projects completely mogged everything else>here's footage of an fetch quest with awkward narration and ai placeholder voices. please don't ask us for any quantitative evidence of progress. thanks :)vs>have a look at footage from the playable expansions we released in 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, as well as the stuff we anticipate being out in 2026
>>719674313I think a lot of it comes down to all the fucking misery and failure that Tamriel Rebuilt and Project Tamriel have had in the past. Over 20 years of continuous modwork is finally paying off because they had so many failure and redoes and team implosions. For example the initial release of Project Cyrodiil with Charach was a fucking disaster, the infamous 300k individually placed pieces of kelp on the seafloor dragging performance to the floor and having to basically gut the team of the people who thought that was a good idea. I don't think these other Skyrim modding teams have had that much learning experience yet. Kelp for reference: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/53339And that's a sweet shot of the arena, I had not seen that before. I wonder if the empty stands are an homage to the Oblivion arena lmao
>>719674285
>>719675909That's true, but it's not the result of some intangible project culture zeitgeist, the lessons TR and PT learned are specific and actionable and the only thing stopping BS from adopting them is hubris.TES3 projects:>vanilla is the only unchanging standard to measure quality against; pursuing vanilla parity above all else ensures a consistent world and slightly mitigates redo fever>open development, every single claim and its progress, as well as most developer conversations, are publicly visible; TR even lets you download indev claim files>you become a developer... by submitting valid work on one of the (openly visible to all!) claims and getting through the review process. anyone who wants to help is encouraged to do so and the process is made as easy and straightforward as possible. at worst, the project gets a finished claim out of it.TES5 projects:>standard of quality is ???>development is locked down and hidden to a comical degree, they unironically get mad at people for "leaking" info>you become a developer by ??? uhh contact us and we'll talk :)To be fair, the mod tools for TES5 are harder to use, and it's a more recent game that requires more work for the same amount of content, but that doesn't justify the secrecy. It also helps that the TES3 projects maintain a healthy contempt for ideas guys, while AFAIK Beyond Skyrim is mostly run by those kinds of people.
>>719663653i completed a run like a couple months ago give me a break
>>719677491I would add another attribute to the Morrowind projects, TR and PT specifically, is that they have completely let go of declaring release dates because why the fuck would you do that. >My grandkids will sure enjoy playing in the Imperial Cityis the correct attitude to volunteer projects of this scale.
>>719663653shit series, shit game, shit op, gtfo
>>719665243would
>>719679746they don't call her thousand-hands for nothin
>>719663653I didn't get the appeal, like leveling up and traveling along the map is the main reason to play it? It has the same disappointing quests as Skyrim and Fallout 3
>>719663653But I started a new playthrough today.
>>719663653Had a good first run with it some months ago
>>719679746>wou-ACK!
I already played it a fuck ton this year. It's a shame open world games have regressed so much. I'd totally be down to play more games like it.
>>719679568skibidi to you sir
I don't like "sandbox" games.Nor do I like literal RNG for whether my hits land in a fucking action-based game.
>>719681204DESU just getting torn apart by chains is pleasant compared to how the novella opensthe Cenobites turn all your senses up to an insane level and overwhelm you so much that even the mites on your skin and your own breath is too much
Cool but MGSE or OpenMW
>>719682557openmw
>>719682557I used to swear up and down for MWSE because it had mods like Guar Whisperer and Ashfall. However, since moving to OpenMW, I understand it so much better. It looks, feels, and runs so much better. Not to mention, there are tons of good mods for OpenMW that make up for the few good MWSE mods you'll be missing out one. Someday, someone is bound to port Ashfall over. However, playing without it really hasn't been as different as I thought it would be. In some ways, it's less tedious, even.>inb4 Devilish NeedsThat mod is shit and poorly implemented.
>>719682557I like mgse because I've always used it and have it all set up how I like it, but openmw seems fine.
>>719677491it all stems from the TR-silgrad tower split, the founders of BS were originally part of TR as part of the people working on the silgrad tower region but split off because TR wanted a little thing called "lore accuracy" which is just actually a byword for quality, the ST team got butthurt over that and split off releasing their mod first, this mod (silgrad tower) is abandon ware over on the nexus, whos to say that when TES6 comes out they wont drop skyrim just like they dropped ST. The mod itself is shit, blacklight the capital of house redoran uses the imperial tileset, and for some reason has a legion of argonians in charge even the worst parts of TR (the telvannis penninsula) easily beat ST
>>719682916>lore accuracyIs this "lore accuracy" as in accuracy to the lore of the Elder Scrolls universe or "lore accuracy" as in accuracy to Kirkbridian fanfic "lore"?
>>719683052ah look who slithered out of their dungheap. come back to bitch about "lore accuracy"
>>719683213>brags about it being "lore accurate">cries and lashes out when pressed on thatSo fanfic "lore" it is then.
>>719683052Yes.
>>719663653It's ugly and miserable
>>719682789Any OpenMW equivalent ofhttps://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/57178
>>719683354do you enjoy repeating the same point of lore accuracy over and over again like a parrot?
>>719683549Don't reply to him, for fuck's sake.
>>719682557OpenMW
>>719663653Because I play videogames for gameplay, and morrowind has probably the shittiest gameplay ever conceive.
>>719683549>>719683731>TR is lore accurate>are they?>oh my gosh, why do you keep talking about lore accuracy? shut up!did a bot get confused or...?
>>719683765What a majestic looking knight. I hope nothing bad happened to his steed.
>>719682557Some of the MWSE mods look nice, but openmw just runs so smoothly.
>>719682557I ended up getting MWSE when I started playing TES3 in December of last year because I had Morrowind in my library for some reason and because there was some temporary issue with OpenMW when I was getting thing sorted out. It seems fine. I hope that's helpful.
