Summer 25 here, just hit Rank 5 and now working to the 1 million gold Rank 6. I have a huge bazaar the first week of Fall coming up because a shitload of pickles and necklaces I made finished up. Easily make 200-25k I would guess.
I just got a cherry seed but it says it'll take 16 days to grow and that falls outside of spring. Should I plant it? Will it die before it bears fruit?

Locusts are usually a single jump. Crabs and frogs are ground level so they can vanish quicker, it doesn't work all the time to run behind them, I usually slow down for those and cicadas/beetles so far.

Seems like you can cook with a bunch of garbage one star ingredients but if your single herb is maxed out from the foraging bonus it turns into a 7 star meal. It doesn't take the average price of all the ingredients used either, I was saving a huge stack of these walnut oils but it doesn't matter in cooking, it's identical to the herb oil. Now I have to be more selective with my herb/gold butter and save them for when I need to boost a low star meal.

This is standard for every seed in the game, the only difference is that single tree is producing expensive fruit forever when in it's season. The advantage of high quality fruit is that you can skimp out on using high quality tea leaves or whatever else since adding high grade milk/cheese/oil to these recipes will bring it up to 7 stars.
