First expansion I ever felt the desire/need to skip cutscenes, which I started doing pretty shortly in. Combat feels like trash so there's no reason to stay around. Raiding is for trannies and cringey tryhards.

There is a limit about tolerating the same formula expansion after expansion, some people quit at shadowbringers, others at endwalker and i quit at dawntrailThis game already peaked in playerbase and now it's just losing players, some people will return for the next msq expansion but won't stay for long and now they only thing that keeps player growing is returning players from the free trial after another expansion is free.

Story was tiresome, went on too long, and overall was a rehash of Shadowbringers written by someone who didn't understand what made it great. Characters new and old were shallow and hollow facsimiles of greater ones. Tural as a zone sucks and is a constant reminder of how horrible Dawntrail MSQ was. Solution nine is a horrible city to hang out and aesthetically clashes way too much.Content takes longer and longer to come out, class identify and gameplay gets more and more stale. Savage/EX fights are a bit better but overall worse since my static lost some of its better members and its replacements aren't as good so I'm wiping way more and taking longer to prog.I was promised a setup for the next 10 years but got nothing except a sippy cup and more ascians. I would have loved a beach vacation episode with little to no stakes but instead got a potential rejoining which is calamity-tier disaster.And to top it all off, the devs themselves don't care and attack the playerbase. This game is dead unless there is major revamp and change in the development team, but that's not going to happen. I only stayed subbed after 7.0 for the first raid tier cause I promised to raid with my static, but now that thats over I haven't touched the game.

One of the mechanics in Manipulator involves hot potatoing a DoT debuff which is fine until you realize you have to carry it through majority of the fight including massive raidwides that can easily kill people coupled with the DoT tick if that shit wasn't on a tank, it says a lot that people preferred to fail some mechanics that didn't have lethal punishment to doing them properly because doing so required committing too much DPS to adds. The netcode on some mechanics like ferrofluid or digititis didn't really help matters either.

I think to argue over Gordias as a raiding death knell, the game would have had to fucking HAVE a raiding scene at all in the first place. 5% overall, when we both know that selling clears was fucking notoriously common in ARR, is the equivalent of our currently anemic Ultimate scene. Strictly speaking, raiding was not popular with the vast majority of players during that era of the game in the first place. I've never done a serious deep dive, but I'd say raiding didn't start to get really popular until O1~O4. Creator had like 8 minute queue times in fucking normal mode, man.
