That one game with the Indian woman that was supposed to have like five books released too or something but it was such a failure that everything was cancelled. So forgotten that I forgot the name.

I have never seen a thread for this game here.
>>719740242Balancing was out the ass. They tried to imitate counter strike but the weapon system was the biggest flaw as it was literally rich get richer because you just need to get enough kills for the mx5 (m4/ak), aa12, lmg, or the AWP with zero downsides for equipping them. Yoy die once? Just respawn with the weapon since it doesntcost anythingThat and cs go was still a big thing

>>719740242CSS but with a bunch of tacked on mechanics that on paper sound fun but in practice either amount to nothing or are a detriment to the player. Sometimes I assume people attribute things they remember about Dystopia to neotokyo because besides the OST and aesthetic theres not much there.
>>719740730me too, I started playing it last year and I think it's one of the best multiplayer shooters ever, the music and artstyle is just a nice bonus on top it.

>>719741576Probably Unknown 9
>>719741148it's neat. not my favorite and I suck at it, but there's nothing quite like turning on motion vision and seeing invisible dudes pop up in your vision the second they move, or smoking an area and lighting dudes up with thermals on. I remember once I was using thermals and an invisible enemy passed in front of my teammate, and I saw my teammates thermals get cut out in the shape of a human, allowing me to get a kill on the invisible player. >>719741467check steam community, there's a server that fills up on t he weekends. you could even join their discord

>>719739957it had a great ost though
>>719742343>DystopiaThis is still active Wednesday night/Saturday afternoon US time. Game is still good but I dislike some things added in later patches.FoF is still pretty active. PVK2 got a recent major update and has been more active. Double Action Boogaloo which was the Source sequel to The Specialists is active. ZPS is somewhat active but has some issues, the original Zombie Panic for GoldSrc is being worked on by devs though oddly enough. GoldSrc/Source mods were probably the most fun I had with gaming and I'm glad it's not dead at least.

It's not 24/7 active but at least for US time there is some activity during the morning/afternoon on EU servers and one of the US servers is active and full pretty much every night for at least a couple hours.Still far from when the game had thousands of people playing but it's not completely dead.
>>719742343I think making this a paid game and cutting the co_ maps hurt it a little bit but people still play this too apparently.
Zoomer here, and this one. Played it as a kid because my dad just let me play all of the games on his computer. Despite being technically younger than the game, I hear absolutely nothing about it ever.
>>719743063Day of Infamy. Actually still pretty active but people are only playing the coop mode, pvp is totally dead.

>>719740451Just read the wikepedia description and this just sounds like pikmin without a time limit. Oh how my tomb raider creators fell.
>>719743470Not sure. It seems about the same activity level that it usually is when I looked at it over the last few years.I think that's why people liked co_ maps in NS1 because no commander. But they tried to sell it as a separate game or something which didn't work out.
>>719743334>Day of InfamySo damn good
Half Life 2 never got a definitive Sven Co-op, I guess you could say Garry's Mod was it but it really wasn't.There were a bunch of attempts, one of them was Obysidian Something. It had a map where you would go fishing for barrels of oil to buy a ship so that you can go dive for gems so that you have enough money to go to the moon and get moon rocks to bring back down and sell to buy something.Resistance and Liberation was a more realistic WW2 game on Source. There was also a Revolutionary War mod for Source.Firearms: Source was fun until they burned down in drama.Fortress Forever got overshadowed by the TF2.There was that RTS/FPS hybrid, Empires?I am pretty sure there was also a mod for Source that was basically the Space battles from Battlefront 2. I am not hallucinating this, right? There was also a team deathmatch mod that came out pretty late, around 2013ish I think, the only thing I remember being that there was a minigun class.Like 3 different Zombie mods, right? Zombie Master, something else and something else.Hidden was another one.Between GoldSrc and Source there must have been several dozen multiplayer (and singleplayer) mods that at some point had a crowd around them.
>>719742217There is no way you are actually this retarded.
>>719744190>I am pretty sure there was also a mod for Source that was basically the Space battles from Battlefront 2. I am not hallucinating this, right?Eternal Silence.
>>719742820
>>719744190Oh shit, there was an Interstate '76 mod, which in on of itself must be a forgotten series.Pretty fun car combat game on Mech Warrior 2 engine, the sequel '82 was on MW3 engine.I tried playing '76 like a decade ago but it had a physics problem related to CPU clockspeed or what not, basically cars were glued to the ground which wouldn't be a massive issue if not a mission that requires you to jump a bridge. I think it could be fixed but I did not bother with that.I guess we might as well bring up Quake 3 mods, remember those? There was Western Quake 3 mod,There was a Counter-Strike clone (or maybe a predecessor?)There was a flight simulator mod, I think you could fly a B2 in it (didn't have bots).Pretty sure there was also a Team Fortress mod for that, how could it not?
>>719744190>There were a bunch of attempts, one of them was Obysidian Something.Obsidian Conflict. It crumbled to tranny pedophile drama. Like, years before that was a normal thing to say happened, I should clarify.
>>719744470That's the one.I remember it because I learned about from Steam despite lurking ModDB hard, when promoting Half Life 2 mods was a thing Valve did>>719744564lmao, what the fuck.I probably didn't play it for that long, I remember there being co-op story missions and that water level which was my favorite, but once I had it figured out it wasn't as fun anymore. You just don't see big projects as mods like this much anymore. Fair, people now have the option to make their own games and earn actual money instead, but also modern games don't really seem that forthcoming to mods as the old ones did.Even around 2012 all the big modding scenes were for games almost decade old with a few exceptional standouts, such as Warband

this game is utterly kinoit has a surprisingly good war story, with even some political intrigue going onthe ending is okay, but when I was a kid it genuinely made me think about how gruesome war was. Made a drooling kid understand how far revenge goes. Still joined the army like a retard, but the whole time I was thinking about how I'd do anything for my bros and this game had that

I remember telling him are you fucking kidding me? I literally swore my life away dumb fuck. Consolation was, he felt really bad about it and among a bad home life (parents beat him daily) and having bad romance (ex-gf got him fired from his job by planting false evidence and he went to court) then his sister had enough of their life and stole his dog which was his only real saving grace at home. Later, almost eight years later, I got out and linked up with him again, and he told me he was really sorry. I don't really talk to him but I personally don't blame him. >>719739957Astal for Saturn. It was the closest thing to a Sonic that came out for Saturn, but the gimmick instead of being really fast was being really strong. Kind of like Panzer Dragoon Saga, I'm amazed that Sega never remade that.

>>719744190>Zombie MasterZombie Panic! SourceNo More Room in HellSuch a shame we went from this to the current era where everyone who would have previously been putting out free mods is instead paywalling mods behind patreon or releasing unreal/unity asset flips for cash.
>>719740795>remember me>no one remembersSad
>>719740598>played this on a demo disc all the time as a kid>decide to play it on emulator>actually ridiculously hard and obtuse
>>719820291I played most the late 90s Hasbro games and I was so made how most were just wasted potential. HEDZ was a fantastic idea that as a kid sounded amazing but in execution nothing work right and it got boring.
>>719746961Army Men was such a kino series, even if it got milked to death by 3DO. Never got a chance to actually play the 3D ones proper since they ran at a silky smooth 3 fps on the family computer at the time and some dipshit stole the disks for Sarge's Heroes and Air Attack, but the first game with cheats and World War were great. They got away with way more violence and shit than any other e-rated game would. The concept was even cooler if you actually had and played with the toys the games were modeled after as a kid.
>>719819595they were precursors to the early touch mobile games before it all became gacha slopthis made me remember this game
>>719739957what was it called again? tokyosomething? someone link the OST
>>719769485horror game threads are already a little uncommon outside of big releases, and Siren is a 22 year old game in a series that last got an entry in 2008 that (rightfully) has reputation for being incredibly obtuse and difficult with a sequel that hasn't been re-released for anything while also never coming out in americait makes more sense in the zeitgeist of the early 2000s when you had everyone making websites/forums for specific topics, along with japan having a strong forum culture already present - it's not fighting against a flood of weekly releases and tides of low effort unity horror games
>>719823361...dystopia? fuck i really dont remember
I post this in these threads occasionally, never had a single (you) so clearly I am the only person on earth to have played it.
theres a game called Dr. Lunatic which ruined my childhood and turned me autistic because i played it so much
>>719787592That first PS3 reveal trailer for this gaming was really cool. Never ended up playing it.
This is the best Battlefront and most people I know who are obsessed with OG Battlefront don't even know it exists.>custom class system>custom soldier system>New planets with every existing one re-worked to fit a smaller scale better instead of just layering on fog like the previous PSP>Multiple new weapons like an orbital laser beacon and railgun-like sidearm>New heroes like IG-88, Kit Fisto, Admiral Ackbar, and Asajj Ventress>Story is a mirror to the 501st Legion and is about Han Solo's personally assembled squadron>Entirely new Galactic Conquest mode with troop management that requires you to allocate how many units you will move between planets and maintain your army between turns. It also has a progression tree with a territory system that unlocks Generals like Han Solo or Admiral Thrawn for purchase that will give unique buffs as long as you keep the territory >"Alternate" control scheme actually functions now>Emulates well so you can re-map them anywayYou are missing out if you haven't played this. The sequel Elite Squadron is nightmarishly bad and rushed as fuck but it's codename in development was Battlefront 3 if you want to glimpse what could have been first-hand.
>>719781847Fun game. Shame it required actually playing the objective to win a match, instantly filtering the majority of fps shitters. Also fuck yahtzee and his calling it a "tf2 clone" because the dipshit didn't actually play the games he reviewed.
>>719822638not familiar w/ this offshoot... here's one-- maybe you know. it came before silent storm, ww2, isometric, 2d. had destruction...any idea what im talking about? i cant remember the name. 90s game, im sure
>>719823690*previous PSP installment
>>719823837they also oversold/hyped it bigtime, which didnt help. they made dirty bomb after, yea?
>>7197892122 > 1 > 3 never played the others
>>719824026>>719822638i found it, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71IdryupIak
>>719787592>cool game>nobody knows about it>nobody knows it's technically the prequel to warframe
anyone remember this one?i really dug the atmosphere way back when.
>>719788631Maybe they want to be the next Embracer/THQ Nordic, complete with melting down over one failed deal and killing everything that would have made them money.>>719817290Pretty hilarious considering Dead Island at the time only had one actually complete game, and it was the expansion pack sequel. >>719823690The best version was the old playstation underground demo of 1. So many features that never made it to the final release like buildable/repairable cover and first person vehicle viewmodels those certainly weren't in the ps2 version
>>719781980A man of culture like me
