what does /v/ think of Detiny 2?i think it has some of the most challenging pvp due to the long time to kill. Call of Duty is almost instant once you start shooting, here there are firefights you can take shots for a second or so.

I have 4200 hrs in it. I have multiple seals, got mythoclast my first run of VoG. I consistently play with the top 5% of pvp players. I have literally paid out to probably $1000 on the expansions and microtransactions for the drip. Do not play it. Every update is 3 steps forward one step backwards. You will be consistently disappointed.Edge of Fate's updates might actually kill it.Fomo through the roof. The diablo-lite ARPG mechanics are poorly implemented, the grind is even worse. And now everything gets reset.It has some of the best gunplay and powersets you will ever find in a video game. The way you move, run, shoot, and use abilities... Are there people who actually think the Edge of Fate is what is killing Destiny 2? Edge of Fate is the best that Destiny has been in the last 4 years. This update fixes most of the problems that has been plaguing the game for a while now. It's still nowhere near the heights it got to during its peak, but at least it's an improvement from how shitty it's been since Europa

Finally uninstalled after the final shape. Miss playing the game with my friends but we've both decided to quit. Smartest thing Bungie can do it let it end and move on to D3 in a few years. Build D3 to actually be supported long term. Game is currently a husk of its former self. Witch Queen was absolute peak.

Destiny needs drastic work to make it attractive enough to get people to come back to it. I really think that the only answer is a Destiny 3. The current gameplay and mechanics have been pushed to their absolute limits. My opinion is the suits have too much control. The devs are forced to have updates on a set-in-stone timeline, so they can't do anything experimental or interesting. The best seems to be reworking existing shit, or playing around with numbers. The current conversation aside from "game is shit" is "Is Destiny Rising better than D2?" and the answer is that there's parts of Destiny Rising that should be in D2. That should be a massive red flag for Bungie, but the whole company's already on fire, so I don't know if they have any idea. The devs need to create fun that isn't just loot drops. It needs new stuff that is fun by itself. Does anyone remember D1 when VoG dropped? I remember how good it felt to do the mechanics and work together as a team, the loot was attractive, but I wanted to play it more because it was so much fun. Same goes for basically all the D2 raids, but they've gotten less rewarding and more time consuming to the point where it's just too much effort to bother with. I want to get back to a place where I want to play the game mode, regardless of rewards at the end. I want to get excited for new dungeons or raids, I want content that looks like it's worth the season pass, but that's not happening any more. The game has turned into a 2nd job and I'm not working on that for free.
At this point I don't think there's actually anything they could add or change that would make me come back due the limitations of the genre.Live service games were a mistake.

The changes to power leveling means that the best way to level is to run the exact same easy activity on repeat for days instead of the old weekly and daily powerful/pinnacle which had you play a variety of content including endgame raids and dungeons. The new raid has no worthwhile loot so no one plays it, old raids and dungeons don't even drop tiered loot at all, being effectively soft Sunset from the game.There are other issues but these are the core ones that affect everything else in this game. These changes don't satisfy either hardcore players or destiny dads. Only loveless freaks that play this game 70 hours per week defend this new direction, and these "people" are hopelessly addicted so Bungie can milk them forever, which is what will sustain this game until it's all over.Beyond human understanding
