so which one was your favorite/funniest/coolest skill character?for me its Authority and Volition
Who the fuck cares, OP is a reddit commie faggot.
I finally played this game after all the poltards convinced me to stay away for years. It's genuinely great. There's a little too much filler but the worldbuilding is incredible, it feels much more realized then any other vidya world, it could only be compared to proper literary fiction in that regard
>>719790946i like most of the humor
>>719791153It has great humor, obviously people will cherrypick stuff they don't like out of the 1,000,000 word count. Probably an obvious example but I thought it was funny that my super sleuth detective couldn't figure out that the smoker on the balcony was gay
>lore out the ass>occasional useful information>Wompty Dompty Dom Centre turns you into a godEncyclopedia will forever be my boy.
>>719791982trant was cool
>>719793048+rhetoric and logic are my favorite int
>>719790695i picked high intellect which is very good in terms of skill check amount but in tems of impact they are mostly boring, logic and encyclopedia gives you a lot of history and flavor text about the world but empathy, shivers, half light are maybe the more interesting checks.idk what to recommend it's not really a game comparable to others. just pick what you feel is good and really roleplay as that to get the best experience.
>>719790695so why didn't they update the game with the finished skill portraits? did the artist finish them after the team had already dissolved and refused to pay him after the fact?
>>719794065I just want to play with everything maxed out so I don't miss any lore tidbits or funny dialogue.
>>719794065motorics in general are the least useful
>>719794065>Contains one Red Check that will always failMakes my blood boilI min/maxed the shit out of reaction speed and I still don't know whodunit in the Dick Mullen novel
>>719794364they re not finished?
>>719794654THAT'S the one that always auto-fails? Seriously? Thank you from saving me from having to replay the game to find out the culprit. I guess the writers never figured it out either?
>>719794743only the intellect row is finished. you can see they are more detailed and colorful than the rest. though i'd argue most of the ingame sketches are better than the finished portraits.
>>719794531this isnt a 'minmaxable' game failing skill checks is part of the story and many are non repeatable. this is a -LITERAL- roleplaying game in the sense that it's designed for you to actually make decisions as if you're the fictional character >>719794616it has the least checks but lots of cool shit behind them, a motorics character is still interesting IMO
>>719790717>HALF-LIGHT [Trivial: Success] – Call OP what he is – a faggot redditor.
>>719794065Despite the few checks I fucking loved Visual Calculus.
I picked Encyclopedia as my main stat or whatever and all it ever did was spout verbose nonsense at me, while giving a good exp bonus. One day I'll replay and pick something less cerebral.
>>719794531You're going to miss out on lore tidbits and funny dialogue anyway by maxing everything out. Failure sometimes has more fun outcomes with more content than success, eg. Raphael Ambrosius.
>>719795051i like them abstract
>>719794531I did a cheated playthrough and it was very entertaining. There's so much dialogue.
googled the dude who made it. this is probably right the game will be one of a kind the studio fell apart and he doesnt seem to be working on another game.or did i miss something? it's been 6 years are there any DE-inspired games?
>>719795413encyclopedia is at its best when it spouts some autistic trivia to use as a metaphor for the current situation.
>>719790695Inland Empire. And it's not even close.
>>719790695I only upgrade yellow and purple (?)I like mental skills but hate encyclopedia lore dumps. Hate the red ones, but I like shivers.
>>719791982I hate him, I hate lore dumps.LET ME FEEL THE WORLD.
>>719795538How did you do it?
>>719794065>idk what to recommend it's not really a game comparable to others. just pick what you feel is good and really roleplay as that to get the best experience. The sad thing is this is what roleplaying games in general are supposed to be like, not number go up simulators
Logicbros...
>>719797317not really all 'role playing video games' were initially is just games that took the ideas of progression from actual RPGs like D&D. i think one of the first ones was literally 'dnd' like half a century ago.i think the idea of actually roleplaying kinda died with 3D games because there was so much work involved in making game assets,animations..... that the idea of having branching stories where players only experiance 1/10 of the game you made for their particular set of choices made it more economic to make 10 linear games than 1 branching game with 10 linear games worth of content.there's some exceptions to this like telltale but in general this is what makes stuff like DE so unique is it's actually designed for you to mentally assume another character's mind and make decisions for it and the mechanics/point simulator is secondary.
>>719795160>not just save scummingthe only things that really matter are shivers, encyclopedia, and inland empire for substantial passive checks
>get the itch to do another run>only path I haven't done yet is fascismBros. I don't think I can do it to Kimball..
>>719797842lmao never seen it distilled so neatly, goddamn
>>719798479Save scumming ruins the fun, I like to live with the consequences of my character's mistakes
>>719798579THE TIME HAS COME. TEQUILLA SUNSET.
>>719798579Nothing, nothing can stop the Icebreaker
>>719798579he replies positively if you choose 'im the last kingsman' when your portrait changes at the last part of the quest
The closest I got to actually getting into this game was playing as the brute character and just going meat head brute force through every situation. the other too classes was just way too many words in each scene.
the most based one along with Endurancethe malicious entities are always Wömen.
>>719794935It's the vault
>>719798796so how did harry manage to turn back time
rhetoric is underrated
>>719799171What vault?
>>719790695Inland Empire. But it's probably too reddit for /v/
>pass 28% success chance white check>immediately afterwards fail 83% chance red check
