Why isn't there more submarine kino? Sneaking up on a whole wolfpack and smoking them without them noticing anything is amiss satisfies my primal urge to rape and kill. Cold waters keeps me off the streets for hours just for one mission. For the sake of the innocent women and minorities out there, we need more submarine games.

UBOAT is pretty great, I love the kindy goofy German voice overs. And it's even out of early access now.

Face the wall, cold war nigger. The Battle for the Atlantic reigns supreme.

I wish there was a game like Subnautica but with better submarines

>shooting unarmed targets
>no torpedo beats
>no geometry
Where's the struggle in that?

Vehicular game are rare to begin with
Sneaking game are also rare
Submarine are especially slow
Underwater is harder to make visually interesting

Add funky bioluminescent coral and algaes Subnautica style if you want, those are only near the surface, any deeper and you won't see much.
It will also look very ugly if done badly. Since you can't see far you need a good composition.
There's also the problem it causes with gameplay.
Not all submarine are capable of zipping around 360°

Uboat and Cold Waters are both fun. So is War on the Sea. I haven't tried Sea Power yet but I'm sure that's great too.

A submarine titan game done with modern fidelity could be interesting.

No more square environment
No more units with very limited size difference
No more moving diagonally on grids
No more camera movement limited to 2D

Submarine you can follow from every angles
Torpedoes that move 3-dimensionally and tract targets in real time
Procedurally generated environment

Sea Power is great but the performance is dogshit and the aircraft ai is terrible to the point where sending an f14 after a mig17 is a 50/50 chance of success. The sonar mechanics are much better than cold waters but torpedo and countermeasure functionality is a lot worse. And most of the missions suffer from modder's megalomania to the point of taking 4 hours which is about as long as the game can last before memory leaks crash your whole pc.

Don't forget "graphics so good that you can't see shit anymore".
That said, BAR has subs

>when its not bugging out
sadly this applies to all realistic submarine games
simulating real life physics beyond what goes up must come down is really hard for some reason
