Does this get better? I caved in and downloaded this game and so far it has been a miserable and boring experience.I'm not enjoying the gameplay and exploration, its a boring game when it comes to moment-to-moment gameplay.I admit the scale of customization of classes, subclasses, feats and skills is pretty good but executing those things is just boring and unfun.All im doing so far is story content and combat.The combat is honestly shit so far and the story i couldn't care less about, they start with grand and big scale events and start dropping lots of names left and right and i just dont care? its generic end of the world demon invasion where good must stop the bad or if you want to be le evil you join the bad. its generic and tired setting and story, the tone is honestly overrated, its not immersive or interesting, it also has a lot of quirkiness and marvel grips i was told this one is serious wtf guys?So far each side quest was lame af and each dungeon is a linear line, there is tons of loot spam which reminds me of borderfuckinglands and i hate this, the inventory clutter is real.I guess it looks decent and the ui is nice, the cutsomization as i said was impressive but i still dont know how much of all this is useless.This game was recommended to me a lot by reddit crpg dudes and so far its a huge disappointment, does it get better or it stays like this? i have been playing this for 12 hours ingame now.

>>719844809There are some plot twists later on that bump the quality of the story up by a letter grade and make the villains a lot more interesting, but if you're already not enjoying the game, then sad to say but it probably just isn't for you. If you're 12 hours in then I'd say try sticking with it for a little longer, but if you still aren't having fun then yeah, just cut your losses.Personally, I liked it a lot, but no game is going to be for everyone.
With wrpgs like this, especially owlturd games, you're having to forgive the writing that sucks to get to the writing that works and I think wotr is front loaded with the worst npcs and party members. It's not until Chapter 3 that you actually feel like you're running a mythic-tier character and not just babysitting underpowered murderhobos through shithole caves. Once the mythic shenanigans kick off properly and combat starts to revolve around broken combos and actual synergy, the game kinda wakes up. Still, having to suffer through 15+ hours of molasses pacing just to get there is legitimately one of the game's worst sins. Not everyone wants to crack open a spreadsheet just to justify pushing past Chapter 2.

Somehow devs made their rpg system just awful to use, it's the only game i can remember where i absolutely hate leveling up. Also i just love it when games have retarded mechanics like spell accuracy that depends on your dexterity and having to rebuff all the time. It's worse than Kingmaker even, not to mention actual great RPGs of the past.
